    All that talk about anniversaries got me to thinking. My wife and I celebrate our birthdays on the same day.

    Not only that, but we both got married on the same date (not same as our birthdays) so we both tend to celebrate together.

    I went back in the woods and moved the splitter today but felt it was just too darned hot to do any splitting. But it is ready for when the weather cools later this week. I really hate hot weather but especially when it comes this late in the year.

    We're supposed to have highs in the upper 80's and lower 90's the rest of the week. I'm having a hard time getting excited about deer hunting here in a couple weeks.

    I deep sixed the tomato plants today. They were in 2 whiskey barrels, and I spread the dirt on the lawn. Also restacked more wood off the patio, and loaded up the ring rack next to the wood stove. I was going to start closing the pool, but I figured I'd wait until after the rain moves through. I took what will probably be my last swim this year.

    More canning tonight. 21 pints of sauce. More tomorrow night.....probably 3 or 4 gallons of salsa. Then I'm done for the year.

    I'm ready to be done gardening and mowing....for real.

    So, i come here for the family side of things really anymore.
    I sold all my saws when i knew firewood was going to be put on hold for forever
    or a short while..

    How about a little update on life.
    You guys know my wife and i are expecting our first child. Thursday.
    This Thursday. This freaking Thursday we will be parents for the first time!!
    Original due date was the 22nd, During our last appointment, We all became
    aware that our boy is sitting in the wrong direction. He's up right, needs to be
    head down, They call this breech or breeched. Think its just breech. Someone
    here will clear that up im sure, lol.

    So they scheduled us for a c-section Thursday AM. Took Thursday, Friday and
    Monday off. We are super excited. Mom and baby are going to stay in illinois
    for a week so they can quickly go to baby's first week follow up appointment without
    having to travel much. I'll have to come back to Indiana Monday night for work
    at 7am Tuesday. I think we are ready but neither of us actually think we are. Crazy!

    New job is going pretty good also. My paycheck has nearly doubled and i was a day
    short this last week, so thats cool. Not much left to move from Illinois to Indiana.

    Glad i bought a decent sized storage unit..
    You guys with rented storage units, you ever wonder what yours would go for if it
    ever popped up on that tv show storage wars? Hah!
    I always take pictures when im done dropping stuff off, mostly for insurance reasons
    and the wife and i like to bid... lol!

    Glad you aren't laying on the highways of the busy part of Illinois with all those idiot drivers creating close calls with you too. :doh:

    I did the storage locker thing for a couple years; got a real good deal from an acquaintance (biker buddy and his wife) but ended up building my own shed and selling some of the stuff.

    Congrats! Be prepared for the most nerve wracking ride home of your life when they discharge that little one!

    I've driven everything, hook onto a 100k tanker and drag it all over boston, had the front end of a 40' wrecker 3' off the ground at 70MPH because it was so heavy on the under reach and hit a bump, etc. But I was NEVER as nervous as driving my wifes Kia 30mph on backroads coming home from the hospital. LOL
