Yea I just bypassed free ones, cause a $250 one will probably have you cutting all summer before anything needed. But yes I got a free one last year put a starter solonoid in it, welded a bit on deck, and seems like some other $7 part that I am not thinking of. Sold it for $350. I did get it from a friend's dad but he was going to push it to the street before I said tell him to keep it in garage and I'll get it.

I am not afraid of working on them. The one I keep at farm has no electronics on it, there all cut. I just the starter to start it and then kill the fuel to cut off. But the mower runs great so the other summer I put about $250 into it for maintenance.

I was dumbfounded to see what new mowers cost, not even garden tractors! Found a guy in town on CL that's selling a nice low hours Toro garden tractor for $2100. Not sure if I want to do something like that, or a cheap used fixer, depending what it needs.

Problem is I'm getting tired of the fixers in my life. I'm pretty sure that if I were to see my Bronco start burning I'd just sit and watch while laughing.....and I dont have fire coverage on it.

Gasifier I mean you are making your land look fantastic!! I have a similar machine and keep meaning to get to some hardscaping jobs, like yours. Yet life, home repair, other priorities are providing obstacles. Your pics are giving me inspiration to start some of these projects. Unfortunately, I think today my procrastination/laziness won. I helped out a buddy but no tractor time:(

Thank you. I know what you mean, You must take down time. I have to make myself take down time and just relax. Watch a movie with family. Go visit with my parents. Sit on back porch and listen to nothing but birds and look out into the trees. Take a friggin nap! Etc. Do nothing. Take time to smell the roses. I am fortunate to be at the stage where I have all that interior work done (except some basement work) and no longer rent anything. So I have more time for tractor work now.

Not so gorgeous day here. It didn't rain but the smoke from the mainland of BC is drifting out over the coast so we got smoky skies and an orange sun. Got the grass cut at Mom's, her printer un-jammed and a computer program installed. Clothes that were hung out on the line before we left were still quite damp when we got back. No wind to speak of. It will be interesting to see what we get for smoky skies tomorrow.

Weird, it's been so disgusting out that I really haven't enjoyed my morning coffee on the porch for about a month. Sitting out here now at about 65F enjoying it, and realized that most of the birds are gone already. 5-6am in early summer its almost deafening there are so many birds.
