Our previous home was L shaped, had a couple of those exact 32oz feeders on the back deck (my main window, along with the hanging flower baskets), a second set out front, and another on the long side of the L. It worked pretty well, atleast some of the younger (smaller) males could get a split second drink here and there. They just chased eachother around and around and back and forth and repeat, but they rarely bothered the females feeding, regardless of species. Very interesting to me, I was able to id different species by the courtship dance pattern (when they go high in the sky like a rocket and do different theatrics on both the way up and or the way down). WOW do I miss living there :picard: We kind of capped it at two 40lb bags of sugar a summer, but would still bring more out during early/late snowstorms if they were in the area. Pretty little things, the males are fun to hear, the quiet females were as much of more fun, they weren'd all nervous like a chihuahua looking over their shoulders every split second.

just humidity here. It has barely rained here in weeks. Today we were to get a tenth or so of rain here, but we got nothing. It's possible tomorrow. We'll see.

I'd send some your way if I could. It's the rainiest summer I can remember for a long time. We've easily got at least 20" in the past 3-4 weeks. Humidity is 99% every morning

We’re in the same pattern here in NY. I can smell the mold and earth odor in the air every morning. No one is even having a chance to mow their lawns it’s been raining so much. It’s also to humid to do anything outside because of that and the heat. Worst summer in recent memory.

Bummer. Never know. Just the short distance away that I am from you and we have had a good summer here. Started dry. And stayed that way for a while. Then we have been fortunate to get rain off and on for the last month or so. Saved everything here. And made the rest of the summer enjoyable. It has been hot and muggy for many days, but that is what A/C, water, and swimming for the kids is for.

    A word of caution..
Never list two oddball vehicles at the same time on CL. Especially without pictures.
OMG it's been non-stop since Sun. pertaining to pictures.
Since I can't send pictures from the house on my cell, they get to wait until I'm ready. That's been a small comfort but still a PITA to sort who wants what.
    Rant over, thanks.

We are just caught in one of those cycles that run up the east coast. If it’s far enough east we can sometimes salvage a good season. Once the pattern goes sideways we seem to get stuck in it for months. Same stuff happens in a bad winter. And of course a bad winter here is that they can’t remove the snow efficiently like they do in places like Buffalo, or probably where you are. A 20” snowfall and we get locked down. Get two or three back to back and getting the mail delivered is questionable. One year we had to put shoe boxes with the lids rubber banded on on top of the snow mounds with a brick in them or they wouldn’t deliver the mail. This went on for quite a bit of the winter. I always try to have my mailbox dug out. I’m glad I’m retired. I didn’t like four and five hour commutes. I’ve seen places lower down in the state where the side streets don’t get cleared for more than a week after a snowfall. Ridiculous! Chit, winter is just around the corner.

That is some scary stuff and it’s probably real. The heat has to be incredibly intense and sudden when it’s wind blown.

Same here, I can smell the mold everywhere, and haven't been able to mow the lawn.

Usually we spend almost every night out on the enclosed porch all summer unless its oppressive. Haven't spent any time out there in a month now.

I've worn glasses since I was 5. Was at 20/500 by the time I was 10. I have been at the "counting fingers" stage (can't even see the chart - literally) for over 30 years. And that doesn't count all the other conditions I have with my eyes. Feel lucky that they can get my eyesight corrected to 20/35 which is good enough to get my license (not eligible for lasik)

Yeah, go outside and it smells like a musty/moldy basement. My garage floor hasn't dried out in quite some time. I leave the door open for a couple hours at night (when it isn't raining - that has been once this week), but that doesn't get enough air circulation going to get it dry and with the humidity, I'm not sure it would ever get dry even I could keep it open 24/7.

Caffeine! My oldest daughter came home from S.C. yesterday! Great to see her. She stayed here last night. We all went down to camp last night together and shot some fireworks off that she brought home for her brother and sisters. One of my many brothers also had several boxes left over from years ago, and I was storing at the camp, so we invited him down and he brought his granddaughter with him. He and I lit them off while they all watched. Good times. So unfortunately she is only here for a few days and most of that time is dedicated to close friends and Mom’s side of family because they are throwing her a wedding shower. But we will get to spend some time together. It’s been since Christmas when I saw her last. And my wife and daughters are excited about attending this wedding shower at a local winery. Should be a good time for all of them. Wish I didn’t have to go to work today. Ugh.
