Took a road trip this week in the truck and she felt pretty unruly on some of the rough roads. Picked up some shocks and strut assemblies....it's got 125K of junk Indiana roads on it, and hauled a lot, so probably due.

Need to pick up a set of big metric deep sockets at horrid freight this evening and install them tomorrow. The torque spec on the LCA bolt is 365 ft/lb. Hope I can get those suckers broke loose!

Got some splitting done tonight, temps not too bad and humidity tolerable.

Figure just shy of 1/2 cord.

A cartload or 2 was left over from Monday night. Figure around a cord in the pile.

Making a dent in what I cut up.

And a gratuitous pic for Backwoods Savage

Now to take Holly for a quick run before hitting the shower.

Got my rear shocks replaced tonight. Didn't make it to town to buy a 27mm and 30mm sockets for the front struts. Really wish Ford would have stuck with freedom units because I already have 1 1/16" - 1 1/2" sockets.

None of the sae sockets that you have will be close enough? I find there's typically some that can cross over.

At 350+ ft lb, I'd rather keep my knuckles intact. 1 1/16 fits the 27mm OK, but the 30mm nut is questionable with 1 1/4.

Turns out WWW had bronchitis last week, they sent him home with meds. He went back today after a week of medications, but little improvement. This after meeting with an architect today that he met with a couple weeks ago that is/was also being treated for, you guessed it, bronchitis. The other guy got different meds and a 2 week run of antibiotics, makes me wonder why only a 5 day z pack for WWW and no new meds after he's not improved? I also worry because his mother has pretty severe adult onset asthma. Yes, we had smoke from the wildfire and he also weed wacked (and has allergies), just seems like a long time to recover. Poor guy. I'm showing him my Ricoloa honey cough drops, up to him if he'll use them....

Thankfully I haven't had to work hours like that for nearly 20 yrs now.
But back then I was much younger, single, and was more than willing to take on the extra hours.
It also meant a lot of co-workers that had kids didn't have to work mandatory overtime as much.

    Was a win-win.

Not for me now though thanks. o_O

I am fortunate to have a job that is 7 hours a day, M to F with two weeks off at Christmas, one week of Spring Break and 6 whole weeks of summer off. The 6 whole weeks of summer are going to start in just two weeks time. Whoo Hoo! Time to start counting the days.

This is hopefully my last Saturday I'm forced to work. Been going 6 days a week since April.

Starting in July it'll be a rotating shift on Saturdays thankfully. I need some time off. Lots of personal things have been neglected at home and the cabin. Including my wood hoarding. I'm back on the one year plan. This year's wood is good, but the following is still in log form :(
