I got my carpet cleaning issues resolved. I removed them. With all our pets, no way could I keep them clean, esp. The stairs. The stairs was the hardest part. I had to resurface them because the stairs under the carpet was just construction grade. I had a choice of hardwood or laminate. Everyone told me the laminate was easier to keep up esp with pets. They are right. No scratches seen. I got stuff padded, 14 mm thick. No hollow sound when walking on it. I hired the floors done, but did the stairs myself because they were very time consuming and I am fussy about the cuts. The floor when down in one day. The stairs took me a couple weeks. Still have a bedroom to do over. Just don't know how to get the oversized furniture moved. Hard to get the help lined up. Can't do anything now until I get my legs back under me.

We did most of the rooms as well in wood however the living room and bedrooms are carpet still. The stairs are gonna stay carpet too they are way to much work to turn into wood flooring. Our house is from the late 1800's. We used the .69 cent menards flooring and padded vapor barrier to put under the flooring. The wood lock down has held up very well and is tuff as nails! The advantage is now we can clean the carpet whenever we want. :D As for the furniture that didn't move this time but it will next time..

Its usually a weekly rotation but I volunteered for shift coverage. I have been going back and forth from overhead construction to training for the trouble room.

Moving the queen into the castle a little at a time the last couple weeks. Now its hammer time . Her house sold to a cash buyer and is closing this Friday. He wants to start moving in on July 1 !!!!!! This normally woodn't be a big deal but we both work 7 days a week.
