My in-laws are coming over for dinner tonight. They are bringing ribs. And beer. A couple of the youngsters are spending the night at my parents tonight. Gonna be a good night. :D

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you explain that in a little more detail?

Well, just got back from my Dermotologist and my annual mole mapping. I have a family history of mole cancer, so I try to keep on top of it. But this winter I noticed a spot on my nose. It hasn't dissappeared or gotten worse, but none the less I was worried about it. So I'll be having 4 moles taken off and the spot froze off. And a scolding about sunscreen...

Just got home from a 200 mile MC ride with a buddy. Fantastic weather and a great lunch. Perfect day off.

Yea, up until a couple years ago, I had a greater chance of not. However, I've come to the realization that it's in my best interest if I do.

Two years ago I made a batch of strawberry rhubarb jam and at first glance it seemed to be alright. After a jar was opened and sat in the fridge between uses, it started to crystallize into large sugar lumps. I haven't been able to find out why. It is the first time I ever had it happen to me and the first time I have made strawberry rhubarb jam. Have you ever seen this happen?

When the mother in law comes a knocking the garage door starts a locking! Run run run to the saw shop quickly before the in law stops. The wife she stares in stunned silence... :whistle: Now I drink the night away playing with the grinder and all is well! From the shop I peek:binoculars:To see is the house clear to enter or will the car be safer! :hair: Enter at my peril to see an in law looking back to see where did Pete run run run to...  Time to drink away the night.:drunk:

    Nope.

What recipe did you use and how did you determine it would jell?

That you would get sugar lumps isn't surprising considering the use of a lot of sugar but it shouldn't be able to crystallize.

I used a Certo pectin recipe for rhubarb jam and added strawberries in the required fruit amount. I usually follow a recipe very accurately especially when jam making. Just got a recipe for apple rhubarb chutney that sounds pretty good. Doesn't use pectin to jell up.

    There is the "problem"

Increase the distance to several hundred miles ... that'll cut down on the oh I was in the area so I decided to drop in for a visit.

It's the unexpected, unannounced visits Pete should be worried about. Getting caught with his pants down :)
