I think it's crazy that In state drivers hauling logs don't have to keep log books I don't know about interstate Freight haulers. But the chip trailer drivers and the log trailer drivers don't have to keep records could pretty much Drive 24 hours a day
I've also had chances to go back to work for loggers driving trucks, even at my age. No thanks. Don't really want to go back to a regular job today. Actually the only paying jobs I have now is on the township board and one other board. One is once per month (with a couple exceptions) and the other is once every other month. Fortunately, they are usually short meetings.
Well went out this morning started the van serpentine belt snapped. Oh well unplanned day off, 10 degrees, managed to pull van into HEATED garage with no power assist. Me and Lucy ran over to the auto parts store, got back to the house made breakfast, went out to the garage and changed the belt. Now it is lunch time, then off to the dentist for a cleaning.
They did the same here to a GM plant in Tarrytown on the Hudson River if I remember correctly. Some were able to transfer to another factory in other states, but many lost their job. I knew a guy who opened a T-shirt store after he lost his job and he unfortunately only stayed open a few years. No idea what he did after that.
What a long day at work. Being busy is good and all, but wow are we slammed. I think I'll find a rum drink to go with dinner.
