That 7.3 will be a lot more reliable than the newer diesels.

Isn't that the truth! I'm honestly not sure if I would buy another diesel only if the price was right.

I don't need a truck, I just want one as a second vehicle. I could make due with an suv and a trailer. So big power isn't necessary.

I work on them for a living. What a joke. Most guys have gone to gas. There are always the guys that have to have the diesel to haul there lunch box.

A friend of mine is a ford diesel tech too. He just sold his built 7.3 for. 6.7. He loves it.

Another friend owns a tow company, he sold all his diesel fords and replaced them with V10's. Far more reliable, and the numbers ended up being cheaper with fuel prices and less maintenance factored in. Never mind that he no longer is making payments on a truck that isn't making him money.

The 6.7 is better than the 6.4. They are pretty quick stock. With a little modification they screw.

Any vehicle that you have to take the cab off to work on is a POS in my opinion.

Yep. Those are the guys that are truck shamed by me when their diesel crew cab lunch box hauler's get passed by me driving my Audi with a full load.

No. I have a pretty large burn chamber in the Wood Gun. About two 1/2 loads of Ash and Maple. Temp is up there now in boiler but still only at 175 in buffer tank. But with showers, heat demand, laundry, and dishes being done, I’ll need to add more wood soon. It just turned back on again. Only -4 out back right now.

It's nice to have a newer DD, but those old broncs and k5s are classics. Wouldn't mind one myself. But I'd need a lot more money.....:makeitrain"

I keep seeing lots of structure fires being reported in the news the past few days. From chimney fires to people thawing frozen pipes with torches. This weather is tough all around.

Went out in this crap weather we're having. Lots of accidents, and vehicles in ditches due to poor conditions and visibility. I stuck to the back roads as much as I could.

I cheat a little. Can't always use enough salt to kill a large snowfall.

Of course, I don't just clear my own. I do some snow clearing for a living

Snowy owl is making a rare appearance in Alton Illinois which is right across the river from St. Louis. The owls are causing a frenzy for animal lovers and bird watchers. This picture was captured a few days ago outside a restaurant. Such a beautiful bird and I wish I could catch a glimpse. 5a428aed9f9b3.image.jpg

Yeah, I've heard of several fires from and initial assessment of "improperly installed wood stove" and one improperly installed pellet stove.

I was walking a trail on my property one day late afternoon. It was before dusk, and nice and quiet walking on the ground. I saw a completely White bird fly out of a tree and move just far enough ahead to get away from me. I figured it was an Owl by his color and the way he flew, silent. So I tried to catch up to him. Each time he would fly just a little further away so I couldn’t get close enough to him. Elusive and beautiful.
