Going to an estate auction here in a few. Went to one a few weeks ago and got some neat stuff.
One of the bids I won was two fireplace shovels for two bucks.
One was the pressed metal kind, but twice as thick as the one I have.
The other is cast iron and a little pitted, but will be very nice when I restore it.

I forgot that some counties are dry down south  When he was returning from Afgan. we drive 13hrs. 600+ miles check in to motel ask the nice young lady at the desk where to buy a case of Beer as we were parched  . She says just cross over the highway bridge stay on that road for a bit cross the next bridge it's on your right :) well 45 min later WTF there it was ,one big a$$ package store right on the county line:D Next time I drove down to see him I packed a cooler:thumbs:

Just finished up rebuilding the pump and flushed the rams on the plow truck. Something tells me that I am going to be using that thing a lot this winter.

There are still some dry counties out in the sticks, but a lot of them have changed over the years. I remember running into to that problem many times myself though.
I can remember when it was difficult to find beer down in the Smokeys, heck some places down there, they still look at you funny when you ask for it.

Nice set up there will! We still have a fire pit made out of flat rocks I hauled in many years ago. The kids love it. Several times a year we send out an invite to the rest of the family to come over for a bon-fire. We may have as few as 6 show up to as many as 36! Makes for some nice nights. Kids having smores and running around playing hide and seek , adults visiting and maybe tipping a beer or five back.

Actually most of the adults in my family don't drink at all or very little. I'm not one of them though. :emb:

I was on a motorcycle trip in western NC a few years ago. I couldn't find the beer in the grocery store, so I asked the kid stocking the shelves, he explained things to me and gave me directions to the nearest store that sold beer. The directions were fairly involved, all back country roads, about 15 miles, I had the general idea of where to go, but just to be sure I asked him how long it will take to get there...I kid you not, he takes a long look at me in my riding gear, helmet in hand and says..."well if my tires were already warm, it would take me about 10 minutes"...that's when I saw the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Tattoo
