Do you have an air purger over the expansion tank or hy-vents that are not working properly? Mineral deposits can crud them up.

Maybe. This is a pretty rudimentary system.

It seems most of us here would agree with that :)

New pressure tank in 1994 for 800 sq ft, one time did it. Overhaul/rebuild in 2004+/- that was now 2200sq ft, well, plumber was tired and it was quitting time for him, he was used to our home before the addition...., we repeated the process several times over that night and the next morning. Sure enough, that was it. Less bubbles/air pockets between each bleeding/recharging (bleeder by the air purger thingy, sure we had water coming out too, but lots of bubbles, less bubbles each time, but we had a really long closed run and recharging, eventually got them all out. BTW, it was radiant aluminum fins, no bleeders, just a closed circuit.

Yes, keep doing that. Air in the system will cause it to not work. The bigger question is where is all that air coming from? Did you add water to the system recently? Is there some sort of air scoop/air removal device in the system? Any pics??

Please cross your fingers for us, tomorrow lil one will go to school with her glasses for the first time. At the moment she feels like it's a "fashion" thing. I'm hoping the other kids at school are supportive.

So, on my way home from work tonight I saw the unfortunate consequences if a deer running across the road and getting hit by a car. A small 6 pt. The car was steaming, and worse the buck hurt, legs certainly broken, and in pain clearly suffering. I wasn't in the position to be able to stop, but there were several cars and people stopped already.

I feel very bad for the deer. Such a majestic animal wasted in that manner. And in pain. I wanted to stop, and dispatch this animal and stop its pain. I also know that unfortunately there's a chance of me having to deal with repercussions from stopping, and dispatching it with my pistol. I'm in a suburban area, not far enough from the big city.

So I felt bad for not ending this animal's misery. I just think it's too bad that I had to think about the possible repercussions to inconvenience me, versus ending the deer's suffering.

I just hope that the police were able to get there asap and do what I was going to do.

That sucks, I hate to see an animal have to suffer like that. I've just done what had to be done, explained to the DOW and went on my way, but I'm not near a city.
Sorry you had to see it but it happens. Next time, break out the "trunk monkey" and be done with it. Not judging, just saying.

Yeah. I'm licensed for CCW, and I do. I'm also a hunter too. The laser sight on my 9mm would've made it easy. But there were at least 5 people standing around, and there was a house close as well. We have laws about discharging of firearms within a certain distance from homes/ buildings here as well.

It's not really the city, but not rural enough as this was between 2 golf courses.

I recently drained the system to move a radiant panel during our mud room remodel. That's how the air got in.

There is an air scoop at the boiler exit that directs air to the expansion tank.

Did some reading last night and sounds like I just need to keep doing what I was doing. Only problem is I'm 800 miles from home right now.

I get home late tomorrow night and and goig to try to hunt Friday AM...maybe Friday evening I'll get a chance to work on it some more. I'm not on a hurry...the wood stove is my primary heat...I only fire the boiler in the wicked bad cold or at the end of the year when I'm tired of burning wood and the stove would heat things up too much.

Monin... frost on the deck & grass. Looks like it's time to think about getting the plow back on the Jeep and tires changed on Grammy's ride.

Don't think twice about your decision. It was the right one.

Now-a-days, anytime you pull out a firearm, you should expect to be, at the very least, detained. If you were out in the country, different story....but residential with homes nearby, nope!

And with all the people that were there and the technology available, you could also expect to be recorded and posted on media. And that could have led to repercussions.

As far as the animal suffering, lets face it, it goes into shock and doesn't feel anything.

    Keep driving, right decision.

Oh she'll be the envy of her friends unlike me in the 6th grade when I wanted glasses (for the first time) like my cool classmate, Richard Robinson---wire rims--no I had to get plastic and forever after felt the dork---of course I went on to be the valedictorian---but I still wonder about that trade off---I hope I've captured a bit of that "wild side" now that I'm able to make my own decisions---anyhow best of luck to her!
