Awesome cake yooperdave Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.

I had a really nice day. We went for breakfast down at Telegraph Cove in the rain. Our daughter and her husband came for the weekend. Did a bit of Sunday driving. Came home and watched the Blue Jays lose - bummer. Went and caught the ferry to Mom's and we all went out for dinner. Came home from our ocean cruise. Had a really nice day visiting with the daughter and Mom. Three generations at the dinner table.

Getting a new roof and they started today. The cost of labor is absolutely worth it since they are doing the tear off as I type. Looks like a lot of work even with five guys up there.

My first day off started with some long awaited and much needed tractor work on the trails. Stump pulling. Also had a sick kid wanting to go to school so she can play in her soccer game after. Mom makes her an appointment for doctor later in morning and against what I say is probably best, she is allowed to school. 3/4 of an hour later I'm called to go get her. Ugh!

Bring her home, now I can return to tractor and work for one hour before I take her to doctor's. Get some more stumps and rocks dug out and.... oh. There is a hydraulic leak. :picard:Bring tractor to neighbor to see if he can look at it and I have to leave to get daughter to doctor.

My day got more productive as it went along.
I pulled a good number of stumps today. I didn't count them, but a guess would be a dozen. And half a dozen large rocks! :hair:

Four were good size Ash and Spruce that put up a fight. Every where there wasn't a stump there was a rock or four! Ugh. This is one of the toughest parts of the trail to get into good shape.

Two of the stumps had grown right around a rock of course. Those were fun, trying to get the rocks out of the roots! LOL One of the things that fights ya the most is the weight of the dirt/clay/rocks in the roots on the bottom of the stumps. I have to get them so I can at least turn them on their side and scrape the dirt/clay out of them to lighten the load.

Everyone of them comes out of the hole and then I clean as much dirt off them as I can with the grapples teeth and they get set to the side of the trail for future burning. Once in this condition it is easy to come back and pick them up with the grapple on the tractor and bring them to and set them on a fire.

I forgot to take pictures again today. Sorry. I'll be back at it tomorrow and will post some up.
