I hate groundhogs. My neighbor traps over 100 a year for different farms in the area.

If the woodchucks are still where I left them I'll snap a picture tomorrow. Never could figure out what one would do with pictures of dead woodchucks.

It isn't the woodchucks themselves, they are fun to watch, it is the damage they do to crops. We try to raise a bit of food (vegetables and fruit that we can) here as it cuts down on the food bill. Deer can be just as bad and even worse but gubmint makes one jump through hoops on deer. Raccoons go after both corn and any chickens and are easier to deal with than deer. We also keep chickens.

Yea I've lost a few chickens this year. Think a fox or the neighbors free range dog. Raccoons got my corn pretty bad last year. As far as deer not a lot you can do without good fencing which I don't have but I got two dogs that bark a lot.

Free range dogs worrying chickens in this state are legally target material and I believe that is true in all states, only who can go after the target changes. Sometimes it is the chicken owner, sometimes anyone witnessing the event, sometimes it is a LEO, in at least one state the dog owner is required to dispatch the dog.

We have fox cross the lot at times so far the only critter that has tried for the birds is one neighbors dog and one hawk. Crows chased the hawk away and the neighbor keeps Fido under very strict control now.

Can't ever prove its the dog. I figure i let the chickens out and they don't always stay on my property either. My close neighbors don't mind but the dog is from a ways away. Seems like when I see him is around the time one will come up missing.

That wasn't the case with the neighbors dog, that one jumped into the chicken yard, my chickens survived with a couple losing a few tail feathers, neighbor quickly discovered the laws dealing with dogs off their own property, worrying chickens, and that I hunted.

The dog got a free pass because its owner was stupid, that would not have been the case if a bird had gone down and will not be the case the next time.

Not burning my auger motor was complaining and with my busted arm in a cast until today there was no way it could be fixed even after getting the cast removed it will still be weeks before I can disconnect the stove from its vent, swing it around, replace the motor, and put it back together.

I have a lot of other stuff that will take place before that does. Things are still sore and really stiff in the right paw area 1 to 2 pound lifting only on that side until it is no longer stiff then I can move on.

Right now I'm happy I no longer have that cast.

If the chucks are still there tomorrow I'll snap a picture for you. Things tend to disappear from the critter recycling bin rather fast here. If they aren't I'll snap a picture of a bloody trap for you smoke ole buddy.

Ice on St. Patrick's day. I didn't have my grippers on and went from the garage entrance (lock was frozen) to the upper entrance door went down before getting too far and when I got up I went down again. Next day I was to the doc in a box because the swelling wasn't going down. The next day I, the x-rays, and my splinted arm were at the Orthro getting the cast treatment . The stove was fine until sometime in April. I am currently limbering up the wrist and arm. As it is really stiff having been locked in the cast and I had already injured the wrist before by dislocating it years ago (also on the ice). I normally wear grippers all winter long on the lot.

A nice morning here and then it went down hill in the afternoon. Looks like it will be at the bottom of the hill all week. Clouds and rain. Should feel like Seattle by the end of the week.

Wife finishes up tomorrow with her last chemo treatment and then a 4-5 week break before surgery and followed by 4 works or so of radiation. I think it will be a long summer for us!
