Plus, he's a wood guy! He cut down a maple for us. The first time I split wood was those maple rounds littering the front yard. It was the light bulb moment when I realized I didn't have to buy all my firewood. Anyway, he's a wicked nice guy, no appt needed, just walk in during office hours.

So he cuts a tree down, let's you break your back removing it, then gets to charge to fix your back after. Job security!

    Rant Alert

what's our society coming to:hair: background went up to dog trial in Hardwick to meet some family members while we were there a little girl about 12 got stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction. Now this girl did not know she had an allergy to bee stings had never been bit before and it was obvious she was having an allergic reaction! Nobody had epinephrine shot on them so we called 911 the first to arrive was the EMT and all they had was Narcan for a drug overdose heroine second was the fire department same scenario ... third was the police department same situation.. with now no less than 5 different First Responders on scene with no less than 15 Narcan to save drug addicts from overdosing and not a one had epinephrine to help out a child!!

Finally a citizen bystander had an expired one which was used and she was rushed to ER 30 miles away on back roads! still was done in under 30 minutes..
Of course mother who stayed behind with other children was feeling irresponsible BUT she was unaware.. of allergy and it had to be a shot as her throat was constricting!

Thankfully she was administered shot and all well.. a group of us threw money in hat so mother could get shots for her daughter..
MY real beef is with all first responders who can save drug addicts but not kids! of course they do not supply their own kits! And I will sign off now before this gets too political.. BUT why are we spending money to save addicts but not kids!

You outgrow clothes as a kid, then as an adult you grow out of them.

    Fitting, huh? ;)

    X2!

Allergies can suddenly develop, even later in life. It is unbelievable, with all the kids with allergies to peanuts, bees and other things that they wouldn't have something so simple as epinephrine!

Generic Adrenaclick is all over now from the $75 range up to around $110. Much cheaper and no insurance required.

That's better for sure. Raises the question, though, how and who decides how much money to spend on what drugs in an EMT's kit.

I work at a vocational school and was talking to a student a few years back. He told me he got stung by a bee the year before. The school nurse gave him a shot of epinephrine and called an ambulance. He wasn't even allergic to bees!
The same nurse was giving epinephrine to a student who was allergic to bees. The nurse got so excited she missed the student and stuck the needle in her own leg. She's a very nice lady but thankfully she retired.

I would think things like that might be spelled out in the towns contract with the provider...unless the ambulance is town owned

I just saw the 7 day forecast, average temps 75 day and 52 at night with no rain! Wow!

My wife and I are headed out to the New York State fair today. I'll have my FHC shirt on!

I just had to bring the kid to a 6am soccer practice, 59 degrees on the cars thermometer! This has been a great summer for those of us that work up a sweat peeling an orange

I'm going back to Lowell today for more cookies. There were some sweet-looking dry pine rounds in Hudson on CL, just sayin'. But take care of your back.

I saw those! most people are afraid of the pine. If theyre still there this weekend I may have to go grab a truckload or two.
