Well, yesterday started off as a pretty nice day, but by the time it ended, it was today.

My buddy Richard wanted to ride up to the Bristol Diner in New Hampshire, just west a bit from Meridith NH and the Laconia (bike week area). So, okay, I never met a 250 mile ride I didn't like, and especially on a sunny Spring day. So it was all great... until, about 5 miles from the Diner.. we pulled over to enjoy the scenery and then his 98 Road King started making very nasty noises..

He had to ride "bitch" behind my back back to my house, get my trailer.. go fetch the bike, bring it back ... yawn... but we didn't let it ruin our day. File and pics below.

Cut a few small trees, c/s/s the last of my cherry logs, broke my pickaroon:(, raked up all the debris off the lawn, talked with an arborist about some problem trees that I'm not skilled enough to drop safely, ordered a cord of mixed wood from a friend, had some beer and cooked hot dogs on the grill. Grand-kids are coming tomorrow - should be a full day:)

Here ya go Stinny one big box elder. I also cut up 3 pines but didn't take pictures as it's near a public area. Some of the pine is in the truck however.

Been to the Bristol Diner a few times, good food. What'd Richard have? Looks like prime rib. Anyway, looks tasty. To paraphrase an old Honda ad - "You meet the nicest people when your Harley is busted" ;)

Richard has 3 bikes, a HD Ultra Classic, and Fat Boy, and this older Road King. This RK is a 1998 with 98K miles. He has this EVO motor stroked and some high left cam. It shakes like hell till it gets to 2500rpm.. but it's a Harley.

We both had the prime rib English cut.

I'm schizophrenic owning a 6 cylinder Honda Valkyrie that has never been broken in 100K miles, and 2007 ElectraGlide that has required numerous expensive wear items. Like a new final drive belt, and pulleys, and a new Screaming Eagle compensator. Both of those items were over $1K.

My kids tell me we need to have our first bonfire of the year even though it's only 40 degrees out. Guess I'm going to put a lot of logs on, grab a blanket and make a bonfire. Cold beer and a bonfire, they didn't have to beg too much ;)

Was it the cold beer that swayed you?

Yes, it can persuade me to do just about anything!

But my cute kids smiling and saying please was also a big factor :)

Well, I've got to spend some time with the wife and kids today. Took a little down time yesterday and took the wife out to dinner, then we watched a movie at home. That was a good time. Today I have more branches to pick up on the outside of the fenced in yard, a lot of raking to do, and I need to go buy and spread some grass seed out in several areas. Everything is damp from the rain so it should be a good time to put it down. You guys have a good one, and don't work too hard today.

Going to slay about 15 oak trees today for my bil's dad. They said I have to do all the felling and keep the wood, but they would drag and load with the tractor. Not bad...
