The weather channel says it's only 74 on the lake today. Sure send warmer than that. Oh well. Time to go go for a swim. And another beer. The bloody Mary's at 11am were tasty though.
I skid some tops out today. Wore the dog out chasing me. Atv wasn't too happy either. Mostly uphill pulls. I've still got enough beer belly to rest on the handlebars and sit the front tires back down .
Beer belly? "My elevational transition was enhanced by judicious use an of appropriate counter-weight, to help facilitate the effective traction requirement, thus providing a relatively smooth journey of materials from point A- to point B." That's so much simpler, dont'cha think? Yes, I work for the Govt., I'm here to help.
Got another 5 inches yesterday. Had 3/4" during the day then after 7 'ish last night till some time this morning got the rest. The O' Sump pump is earning her keep.
Nice 4 point tie down at least! I see far too many with one hook and the bridal around here. Glad you got out safe, that would scare the crap out of me for sure. A good friend of mine switched to V10 wreckers and ramps. He got tired of making payments on trucks that were in the shop for warranty work.
Right back at ya! Cooking for a three church picnic this later morning. Hope it warms up a little more. Burgers, dogs, brats. And, of course, women bringing all types of salads, sides and deserts.
Fogust has descended upon in earnest this weekend abetted by the smoke from the interior of BC wildfires. Not seeing the sun or the moon the last couple of days and low fog this morning. We are fortunate though in not having the thick wood smell from it as well. Our daughter volunteered at the evacuee center in Kamloops, BC for a week and 200 more people were evacuated Friday night. Many people have been out of their homes for 2 to 3 weeks. The one fire is 90,000 hectares in size and only 30% contained. Not a good situation and no rain in sight. Prairie provinces are suffering for the lack of rain as well. Crops and livestock are not doing well at all. TNRD issues evacuation order for properties in Deadman Vidette area - Kamloops This Week
Can't "like" that Woodwidow, but we're glad you and campinspecter are ok! And hope all can find a way to navigate the coming days.
Both of my brothers and my sister in law are up in the PNW now, and there's a lot of smoke and burnt smell. Here's to hoping all the fires get contained. Hopefully you'll get the rain that it's supposed to hit us. While it's been a rainy summer, you guys need it.
Terrible situation up there for sure. I hope they can get it contained soon! I remember about 3-4 years ago there was a big wildfire in Canada, and the winds brought the smoke as far as Boston. You would have thought the fire was a few miles away there was so much smoke.
Ive been towing vehicles for years on trailers, tieing them down correctly is a must. Only thing i did wrong on that one is i should of put an X on the rear. I only run an X on heavier vehicles, but it does make a big difference on any vehicle. Especially on that slick aluminum bed. New truck is a diesel with a steel bed. We tried out the v10 gas and aluminum bed, didnt like either. Aluminum got tore up real quick with recovering wrecked vehicles and having atleast 2 tow operators at our place that simply dont care or know what the heck they are doing.
Woodwidow, hoping the rains come and bring relief from these fires. Over thirty years back I remember there were fires in Virginia that brought smoke and flying ash up as far as New York. It was unbelievable. Stay safe.
