Chicks don't just vanish. They huddle up where it's warm. Something had to have nabbed them.

Around here one would think raccoon or fisher. In your area maybe some sort of weasel?

Got any Huskies in your neighborhood? Those are smart dogs and I have known a couple that would patiently wait outside a cage/pen and wiggle their toes until the chickens were curious enough to stick their heads thru the pen. The - off with their heads. However, those dogs never took the bodies. Was quite the mystery until caught in the act.

I got a smaller anvil from BIL a couple years back and am now placing it in the garage/workshop.

Gonna have to get a nice piece of hardwood to use as the mount for it.

2 feet and 16 diameter should do it.

    (Yeah, yeah....I'll get pics! :picard:)

Ones that I have had from Wally world are sub-standard and near to non-sweet. But then, so is the rest of their bakery. upload_2017-7-11_6-48-9.jpeg

I am up and at it this morning. We are delivering the firewood to Mom's this morning and it will be a great morning for a sea cruise. Got a little gardening done yesterday after we got back from firewood gathering so I would like to get some more done today when we get back from Mom's . Baseball all star game to watch tonight.

About 45 mins with the loading and unloading. Regular ferry gets behind schedule a lot. We had a temporary ferry for a couple of months and it was fast. Rather spoiled us for the regular one.
