Picked up a new battery for the boat along with a new boat cover today.

Also, 5 more gallons of paint and a 3/4" roller (2) thanks to my Virginia buddy!

On my way into Menards, I heard a lady calling out my name. :startled:
Yeah, right I thought! Turns out, it was my date for the first prom I ever attended!:D Guess she never got over me....:smoke: :D

So I test drove this seat today. Full route, full speed, tried to break it.

Ho. Lee. Chit. Expect an all out review with pics in the future. For $400, every gosh darn ztr owning beer drinking american should have 1 of these.

See you never know what you can pick up at Menards!

Sit back and let me tell you how a split ash tree got my old 1967 Newport running again.

I noticed after the last wind storm the ash tree that hangs high over our garage developed a large and growing split.

Not wanting to see if my garage roof could handle the impact, I called the tree man. I told him that because of where it was located he would have to come in the from the driveway in front of the garage.

Sure enough he said the same and said he would bump me up in line once I got everything out from the driveway.

Besides a couple of empty wood racks, "everything" was a very immobile 1987 Chevy Cavalier. We brought this "treasure" over from my father in law's driveway. It's definitely not worth fixing, so there it has sat.

My bride finally agreed to let a junk man come take it off our hands. Before she could change her mind I called and arranged for it to be picked up this a Friday.

Unfortunately behind said Cavalier and blocking it's removal sits our 1967 Chrysler Newport. Besides the vinyl top needing repair, it's in very nice shape. However I have had no time to drive it.

I grabbed the keys and gave it try. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Pulled the battery and took it in to have it tested. After all it wasn't that long ago since I bought it. Apparently 9 years flies by, so after a bad test a new battery came home with me.

Dropped it in and found out they didn't charge it before they sold it to me. Charger on, until the green charger light said it was good and ready.

Grabbed keys and gave it a go. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Looked over the terminals. The positive one was broken on the under side and the cable ends looked pretty ugly.

Found a new brass terminal in my parts box, cut back the cables and PRESTO!!!!

"Gertrude" needs a good detailing but she runs like a charm.

So when an ash tree splits...a Mopar is reborn. At least in my case. :)

Still plenty of daylight,...... and a bear came in and wrecked my feeders. But I caught it. I don't know if it was me cussing it out, or the 12g. round, but that sucker is still running.
About 200lbs., beautiful dark brown coat. If it ran the way it came, I now know how it's working the creek. Bastidge.
edit- No, I didn't shoot the bear, just shot in the air.

Up early again this morning. Going to get darker in the mornings as the days get shorter. campinspecter headed out for another load of firewood. Supervisors went with him. Laundry, recycling and sewing this morning and of course my FHC fix.

Looked all over again but still could not find our battery charger and I really needed a couple of fresh batteries. So, off to Home Cheapo (25 miles one way) and bought a new one. Got the charger and another battery for $50 so not too bad. Now I fully expect to find the old one...:headbang:

It's ok Dennis. We couldn't find one of the cordless phones most of the day yesterday, so I kept calling it with the cell phone.
Finally found it........in one of the laundry baskets in the laundry room........under some dirty clothes.  That one was my wife's doing.

Ha! Yesterday she lost one of the 2-way radios. So I had to walk around hitting the "call" button in order to find it. But it was not in the laundry.
