Oh boy, 2 bad hole stories already. Am I in trouble already?
I'm actually waiting for a title 5 inspection first then it's off to the races. AND, the rain is on the way!

I don't like large stones near my holes either.

You could dig for days and not find a rock bigger than a grape on my property.

Shortly after we bought this place we planted a few fruit trees and some decorative shrubs, rocks all over the place had one so large that we dug beside it and rolled it into the new hole. We used a lot of the rocks as borders to the flower gardens. We didn't even try to dig for a vegetable garden, we simply made a huge raised bed and filled it with loam and manure Likewise the flower gardens were the rocks we had "mined" and loam and manure. There has been a lot of poopy shoveled here. In fact I need more poop.

Has anyone ever gotten pallets from Home Depot or lowes? I need a couple more to finish stacking and I drove by a HD today and saw a bunch behind the building.

Doing what I usually do-- waiting on the old lady. Heading down to Dad's to split up those two maples I dropped on Thanksgiving, Sinngetreu is coming over to help. Hope he's not too soggy after that pipe burst I read about.

Crazy storms today, here is the hail that had me pulling over earlier...

Our sump pump isn't keeping up and we have water in the basement. We have lived here 14 years and we have never had this happen before. Crazy! Our back yard was dry this morning...now we have a stream flowing through it!

Had a great time splitting Dad's maples today with Sinngetreu. I will be posting pics in their own thread.

You can never underestimate Mother Nature, your basement and back yard goes to show what can happen.
I had the same thing happen about 5 yrs ago and I will never take not having water for granted again.
We now have a main sump pump and a backup, and we have a generator,to make it all work just in case there is no power.

Today is the first day of hell for the next 10 days for me. My wife decided to take on a 'body cleanse' and as moral support I joined in. I will be toxin free and hopefully a better person for all the vegetables , nuts, seeds and supplements I'm about to eat. Ughhh.
