Dang it Will, your office looks like my vacation! I'm sore this morning from fighting that Doug Fir down off the hill, not sure if I'll tackle splitting the rounds today or not. Gonna fix some fence and move the cows for sure. Heavy, cold marine layer cloaking everything right now, but I know just a hundred feet up on the hill is probably glorious. Might have to fire up the KLX and head up into the mountains to get some sun.

Yeah I appreciated it. On top of that today she babysat the kids for the afternoon so the wife an I could go to the movies (a rare occurrence since the kids arrived). We saw Gravity. Wow, I can say its every bit as good as the reviews and worth a see in on the big screen.

Got home just in time to catch the Pats game go into overtime and..

So then we let the kids run around outside and lit up the fire pit and let them try roasted marshmallows for the first time.:MM:

Woke up, loaded the stove, hung out here on the firewoodhoardersclub. We then left to visit the wife's dad and grandmother. After the visit, I brought out the final loads of yesterdays woodworking, and stopped on and off to watch some football. Since then I ate dinner and here I am again on firewoodhoardersclub. Ill hang for a bit, go to bed and dream about all that ash ill be cutting instead of going to work tomorrow.

Had a 4 day weekend. Started off with getting some pellets stacked (bought a ton on Fri morn), then between the prep for paint on Thirs and Fri, I started to paint the trim work in the basement.

The wife then made the comment, that I should take a wall down and open it up for our new Bar room (have a Bar room/Man Cabe with Pool table, Foose ball table, and 12 ft custom made bar on the opposite end of basement).

So today was spent doing demo on the basement wall and prepping for paint.

Still a lot of work to do... But its a start.

I am obsessed with learning how to make Mild Italian Sausage (without the casings). I went on a fennel hunt yesterday.

Gravity looks to be inspired by Bradbury's Kalidescope.

Little OCD there on the cleanliness of the basement? Hell I have stuff in boxes from 20 years ago when we built the house and moved in. I try to add to it every year!:)

Cleaning out the freezer-- having pressure cooked country ribs in shagbark syrup sauce with assorted French fries. Was at the resale store today looking for cruets for the syrup and the cashier offered us permission to cut in her grove. She had a lot of storm damage in the spring out there, and it's on our way home from work.

The floor will be a little lighter than the Stove color (2nd pic there is a little spot I put in the floor).

It wont be "finished". But the 30 provides more than enough heat.

We are gonna lay down large area rugs, for around the pool table, foose ball table, and bar area (when we move it all over). The other side of the basement (current Bar) has carpet and is more "finished". But its about half this area. Pictures dont really show how large it is.

Also need a drop ceiling. Always something. ...

I'm finally back and now have WEEKS worth of forums to catch up with...holy moly am I behind!

So, I've been crazy with work lately. I work for Pitney Bowes but they announced they were selling our division (PBMS -Managed Services) back in July and it just took place 10/1. Apollo Global Management (the same company that bought Hostess and revived the Twinkie recently) bought and renamed us. Needless to say with almost 100 hourly employees and 5 managers that report to me across the country, it's been NUTS!!

My neighbor came over with that blower that had a blown head gasket. Turns out its his old leaf blower not the snowblower. He had the gasket in, I tourqued the headbolts for him and retuned the carb, got it running nice.

What is that extra piece on the top of the 30 in the second picture?

I built a convection deck for it. Painted it to match the stove. Now when the blower is on (only use the deck with the blower on), the hot air comes directly across the stove top. Instead of just shooting up at an angle, barely running across the top of the stove.
