Well my Mother and one of my Sisters went out of town for the day. So that left my Dad at home alone. So I went over to see him this morning and have lunch. And later this afternoon another brother will go over and see him and eat dinner with him. Had a relaxing visit with my Dad. Played some cards and then went to Phillips Diner for an early lunch. Good chow.

I wonder if in his younger years thewoodlands ever stopped in that place late at night, after an evening of a "couple" beers:whistle:, and had a Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe.? Like we use to do at 2am. I just had one of those for lunch.

Pulling off the old carsiding we had on the kitchen ceiling to reveal the old sheetrock = now working in the attic....sealing up 1/4" gaps. The side wall and ceiling drywall didn't touch....and they didn't even tape the corner....ugggg!

6'4" me crawling around my tiny attic makes the beer that comes later sound REALLY good. Thought of papadave and his efforts to do the same and yooperdave crawling around in some tiny crawlspace. :)

Hopefully it will make our little casa a little more energy efficient.

Had a break this am and got the dogs out at the wood lot. They ran....I swung for a bit.

Got to get back at it.

I feel for you as I know exactly what that gap is like, and how much cold air it lets in. However, I declined to get in the attic and stuffed all the cracks from the inside of the house (used foam backer rod). I'm much smaller than you - I can't imagine how you managed it. You definitely deserve the beer after! :drunk:

Right where I want to be.
I seem to be little wider lately, so crawling around the attic gets, uh.........interesting.
Our attic has a whole bunch of old boards and other stuff up there left from the PO. Every time I go up, I bring some of that back down with me. What a PITA.
Oh, drywall gaps. Yep, SisIL's place was riddled with that issue. Taping would at least keep some air from escaping or infiltrating......whichever.
A few days ago, I was up there and did a depth test on the insulation where I haven't upgraded.
Barely enough to fill the 2X4" depth with vermiculite or this other weird stuff they put up there. Heavy vapor barrier on the warm side, thinner paper on the cold side, with sort of a horse hair looking stuff between. R negative something would be my guess. :headbang::rofl:
I should cut out a piece and take a pic.
Way to go get it done schlot . Plus, you got some farwood too. Gooder.

When I did the back bedroom and stove room, I didn't put drywall on the ceiling (T&G end matched pine), but I foamed the gap, then trimmed the excess.
More than one way to skin a ......ceiling.
