I split a lot of hedge in my day...And have had exactly 2 pieces stop the ram on my splitter. Then today happened. I fought with the nastiest hedge tree ever. For a moment I thought my pump was failing when an 8" round stopped it dead in its tracks...But then I looked over my shoulder and saw the beam flexing under the load. In the end I got a cord of wood...But it was the hardest cord of wood anyone has ever split. I'm going to say it would be impossible to split manually. Literally impossible. Every piece had a 2"-3" snake grain pattern.

In the end I won but wish I had never wasted my time cutting that tree.

 Besides the crusty stuff, hope it's not hurting now either (might guess it does while making a fist or gripping and axe).

Watched BFG with family this morning. Helped wife out today cleaned barn stalls. Went and grabbed some diesel fuel and had some fun with the 210C today. Guy stopped and looked it over pretty close before I started working with it. He seemed pretty interested. I let him try it out because I know him and he runs newer ones for a living. He checked it all over good and said give him a couple days to think it over. So he is the third guy in the last six days to call. Two looked at it. Now it's time to get some work done with her while I still have her and I'm still on vacation! Soooo. Cleaned up some snow, scraped things down well. Then went back to camp and moved some piles of brush and a few stumps. Boy does this Grapple ever work nice. I'm going to miss it when it's gone. Talk about a power house for moving STUFF. Tomorrow morning early I hope to move some more of that clay if things aren't too soft early. :dex:

Sugar Water with caffeine going in. Mmmmm

I went out and plugged the loader in at 6:10 and will get out there a about 7:10 to start doing some work with it. Hopefully will get some clay moved if it's not too soft on the road where I have to move it from. A few inches of snow covering everything.

We put in just over two loads of wood this morning before the rain. After that is was roof raking the house about two feet back from the gutters.

Before I scraped the driveway down with the tractor I checked the fluids, everything was good. We usually leave snow on the driveway but I scraped it down to the ice hoping the rain will get through that., we'll see.

I got out to my wood lot this AM. I did some hauling and a bit of cutting. I'll update my "today's work" thread.

Usually I wait another month but I'm starting to shed some pounds.I stepped on the scale this morning...231.5. The weight I'll get down to is 210.

I started changing my eating habits tonight, just a salad and a nice workout on the treadmill for just over 26 minutes. I'll give myself to the end of April but I think it can be done before.

I'll check my weight again 1/9/17, I usually can shed 4-5 pounds the first week.

This year is different because I never used the treadmill before so maybe I'll shed more weight weekly.

Late reporting in today. Frosty, cold and clear this morning. We took the load of wood campinspecter got yesterday to Mom's today so we caught the early ferry. Mom and I discussed genealogy while campinspecter got the exercise of unloading the wood. It will be cold again tonight so campinspecter has been firing the boiler every day. Usually we can go two days between fires.
