Here's a pic from Google earth. The tree in the bottom left is the one they want to remove. They are not even going to trim the tree just to the north. They are both spruce. The empty space is the right of way. I can draw on this pic to explain better if that will help. My send is at the upper left of the pic. My property line runs N/S on the line from the shed straight down. Screenshot_2016-12-29-18-51-05.png

Is the screenshot I attached pulling up for you?

I realize this is a losing battle, but there's been no consistency of the area they need clear, and I feel I'm working with incompetent people at the top. The guy I talked with was the go between guy, the liaison. He wasn't the arborist, and not the director. I've been told the director is new, and trying to prove a point. They need to clear up the distances required in order for anyone to buy into that though.

I think it's only a 40' right of way. I'll need to look at the house file to get plot maps.

I see Horkn. Hope you can get them to realize that if it was in their yard, and they really liked it, and it was not necessary for someone to take it away from them................

The guy you spoke with said it all when he admitted "we find it easier just to cut them down..."

Hope you stick to your guns. If the tree is no threat, I'll go along with your view, sight unseen!

That is what I use to wash the dogs and cats. It is cheap and effective.

I know how you feel. I also know how I felt when we lost all power for well over a week in Jan. '98 Nearly froze our butts off. I had a house full of kids then. At that time they could have cut any tree anywhere near the power lines for all I cared. I wouldn't have missed a one of them. That what it was like to be on a dead end street that is off a major road. They had power on the road, but we were no priority. Very humbling experience. The power company had people here from all over working night and day trying to restore power. For some, it was over two weeks waiting. That is a lot when you have no water and heat or lights. When they come trimming again, and they are in our area, they can take any tree that has any potential of falling on a power line. I have plenty of trees, but now I am old and have limited means of keeping warm.

Well we got today off instead of Monday... So we only killed one week of production instead of two weeks... So I'll be moving wood, splitting wood, and cutting wood when ever I can these next three days... Coffee is done and that is the important part....

Woke up and gave myself the day off! I'll have a nice long weekend 4-days.
So far, shoveled the driveway, sidewalk, path to OWB and emptied ashes from the OWB. First time this season. Two months of burning but kinda mild winter so far.

Just finishing up the pot of coffee and then off to run some errands.

It wasn't televised by our provider. big thing going on right now is the Junior World Hockey tournament in Toronto and Montreal. So we watched Canada unfortunately annihilate Latvia last night. Canada, USA and Sweden are all undefeated and Canada plays USA tonight.

At freezing this morning. I think we are in for a week of freezing temps and clear skies. bogydave's Arctic air has slid down the coast. Made a surprise visit to Mom yesterday. Today I am working on new slipcovers for the living couch and love seat. I need to create a cover for a recliner. In the past, nothing has been too successful. I am going to try something different and hope that it works.

Off today. Not sure what I'm going to do with myself. I have a slow leak dripping on a pipe in the basemIent that I really should take care of, but it seems that the smallest plumbing job turns into a major project every time around here and I'm not sure I have the emotional strength to get into that today. Need to clean the chimney too.

I know for sure the 3 racks of babyback ribs in the fridge are going on the smoker this afternoon, and I have some cold barley pop that needs let out of the bottle.

Yeah, I need to get my butt into the woods. Taking on some food and MTN dew. Then off to cut and hopefully haul for 3.5-4 hours.
