    small rant-
If you're not used to driving in the mountains in less than ideal weather, STAY in the RIGHT LANE !!!! or Stay Home !!
Texicans and Cailifornicans- I'm looking at you !
My commute to work is 32 miles, one way. It should not take an hour in the morning, and- tonight- 2 hours, to get home. Ugh, 6 weeks until "Gaper" season is over, can't wait.
Rant over.- thanks, had to vent.

Enjoying the warmer weather. Wood usage is way down. And I'm loving knowing that I'm going to coast into the finish with enough wood to get a good start for next year.

Getting ready today for the snow dump in Maine. Gotta get gas, move the snowblower to the back deck, pick-up any of my stuff still outside (not gonna see it for a while), move the vehicles, etc. Wife is down in Portland taking care of smallest grandbaby, 3 mo (I got to feed him yesterday and hold him for a while… it was awesome…)… so, I'll be fighting this snow along with Gizzy, while she stays in Portland until Friday. Once again, I'm reminded how good it is to be on "this side" of my fall in Jan. Working with the wood has helped a lot. :tree: … bring it baby…

Good morning. Woke up to the sounds of howling wind and pouring rain. 42 with falling temps and hi winds all day. I will be curious as to what I find in the wood lot after this, we haven't had these kinds of winds in quite a while. We've had ground freeze near 2 feet most all winter and now with the recent thaw and heavy rains combined with strong winds,,,I might find some more trees down which I will gladly c/s/s in the wood shed.
Gonna' get cold tonight @ 8 degrees and at last count, no more than an inch of snow. The owb is 1/2 full and happy and the house is 72.
Gonna' build a fire the garage stove and fettle around out there today with nothing on the "to do" list.
Have a good one out there today and be safe. Peace.

Shuffling paperwork today. Get outside a lot Thursday, Friday though. First, clean up the snow. Then take a few trees down and clean up the branches, then buck them and move them up to the pile. My pile might have hit 7 full cord by now. 3 or 4 more to go to cover all of next season including both shoulder seasons. Might even burn for part of the summer for hot water this year. When it is not too hot out.

Good way to support, frame and cover. I may do something like that along my stonewall when my shed is full.

I lost power at work today too...I got a fire going in the stove and was warm. The laptop battery held out long enough that I didn't miss any work. I do need a back-up battery system for my computer. Like 12 hour capacity of some sort.

Luckily I am off for a few days. And the wife and kids have a two hour delay for school. I will be able to clean this mess up. We have about a foot of snow I guess. Hard to tell with the wind blowing all over the place. Will take me a while to clean up the two places and then head up to my parents to help them clean up. After that I will be cleaning the pellet stove and firing it back up. You guys stay safe on the roads and such.

Tore up the carpet in our dining room last night to make room for some laminate wood. At some point the dogs decided to attack each other and as i jumped up to break up the fight, i lost my balance and stepped right on a pile of tack strips ( with socks on  ) . Lemme tell ya how good that felt!

Gotta finish pulling padding staples today after work then start laying the floor this weekend.

Welcome Friday! :) Going to squeeze in a hike after work since it will be up in the 50s. Have a cooking date later tonight. I love spending time in the kitchen with a guy.
