Don't forget the single digit traffic speeds, people throwing trash out the car window, peeing in your yard, etc.

I couldn't tolerate it for a week. You're a bigger man than me!

Good morning, 48 degrees with coffee! The nerve agent antidote for what gets you started!
Wrapped the wall above/around the workbench in 3/4" ply yesterday,,tearing out the old shelves was the hard part, wondering if I'll ever get everything organised/ put away.

Gotta' small fire going in the owb,,I might get to sneak in a couple days of fishing before starting the chainsaws. Today is my Sunday, it's back to grind tomolly.

Well setting the post and beams was/is a big and time consuming job. Had plenty of help today. Thankfully!:handshake: Two brothers, nephew, family friend, and neighbor. Six of us put a full day in. And that was a good number.

All beams had to be built. 2x12s and 3/4" plywood. All post had to be squared on one end, then cut to length, then have a channel cut into the base end to fit around the bolts that fasten a fabricated steel channel, made by my neighbor/friend, down to the concrete pier.

Luckily one of my brothers who came today has a large skid steer, and brought it at my request. He was able to reach just high enough with his arms to set the beams in place.

We have one side of the barn done, minus one beam.

Good morning to all. Caffeine going down. And a couple Tylonol!

Another trip to Lowes for more construction adhesive and Paslode nails after I get myself woke up.

We are also using #20 nails in the big framing. Makes me feel better than those framing nails in the guns. And my neighbor is making me up some short pieces of 5" and 7" long 3x3" angle iron for brackets with holes in them on each side for solid steel fasteners at connection of each end of the beams. These will have 2-1/2" Timberlock screws put into them. Should keep things together nicely.

Over the next couple weeks I will add some other "tie down" brackets in certain places to help hold the whole thing together in the event of a severe wind storm.

I was up at 4:15a at 35 degrees and got the stove rolling. I cooked off some chicken stock to warm the place up and it smells so good in here now.
