it's like spending 10 minutes trying to find your glasses which are propped on top of your head..............Morning hoarders, a clear, cold morning here although it is supposed to warm up nicely. Gonna go outside after coffee and find something to keep me busy. Everyone have a great and safe day.

Good morning, gonna' see low 70's today and no rain.
Need to run to the lumber yard for some 3/4 ply, a couple sheets for the wall above the workbench, it ain't cheap and probably overkill, but it's what I want to use.
Have a good day out there, be safe.

Clear and cold here this morning. campinspecter and the supervising crew headed out for another load of wood this morning. My weather signature says freezing but the outside thermometer says just above freezing. If it did freeze last night, it will be our first frost of the fall. It is not quite light enough to see. I am off to work after getting towels hung on the outside clothes line to dry. they are going to smell great when we bring them in.

rottiman you were right. It will be Cleveland that the Jays play.

Today we worked with just three of us most of the day. Then a second brother of mine showed up with one of his employees and they wired in the electricity panel box and a four outlet box. Power on in the barn!:handshake::thumbs::rootintootin:

Gas looks like you almost built it tall enough to get the loader in there - just don't forget about the hoe hanging off the back someday;)

It crossed my mind before hanging up the phone and approving the remanufactured Jasper that has to ship from Indiana.
With the reman 3yr/100k warranty or shop built with 90day - not to mention labor on a shop rebuild providing most of the internals are in decent shape with upgrades gets close if not equal to slapping the Jasper in it.
Bought the truck used with 65k so it's very likely something happened to it prior to my ~21k on it.
Its acted up once/twice not down shifting, but never threw a code and cleared up on it's own.

Either way the title is in my safe. I was hoping to avoid major expenses for a couple months and pay off the mortgage, but that's why I have an emergency fund:yes:

My decision to build it taller than what the original plans called for was several reasons. It has added some work and time to building it. But it will be nice in the long run. For height of door and under loft in center bay, consideration was given for a hay wagon, and I may , or may not, be able to get a good size "future" loader backhoe in there. :D

Height to header on big doors will be 12'-7-1/2". :)

as long as the opening is wide enough to drive the loader in there it could come in super handy to set the trusses.
you could always put a V-notch in the end trusses so the hoe will clear without having to let it out before entering

Original plans called for 9' wide doors. I changed that to 10'.

No trusses. That would be too easy! :picard:

We are stick building the rafters. 1/3 of the way in from each long side there will be a wall on the side of the hay loft. (Loft is only over the center bay of the barn.) The rafters will sit on these walls.

I have watched my buddy rebuild literally 75- 100 4l60E's! Weak points were the sunshell, overdrive clutches and the balls in the valve body beating the seperator plate out. They were notorious for breaking the sunshell around 100-120k miles.
One time I helped pull one, it took us an hour and 15 minutes from the time we started to being on the bench tore apart and diagnosed. Not bad for being done in his driveway in the winter time with no air tools!:)

He would tear them apart in front of the customer just throwing all the parts in a pile while telling jokes and pointing out the bad parts. Before he started he would always tell them," Pay attention there will be a test at the end."

Venus vs Mars. When I do that I ask anyone around "what did I come out here for?" "remember what I was looking for?" "Hey, any idea of what I was about to say?" I have no worries for saving face:eek: And have done the stinny routine too many times. Yep, it happens

That's what unfortunately happens when a decent assembly is bean countered and cheapened out on critical components.

I know this is cooking related but have to recommend Velveeta chicken bacon ranch skillets in a box.
I'm a from scratch guy for the most part, but these boxes of goodness with a ~1lb of chicken breast diced up in 1 PAN could make some of you cooking illiterate the hero of the dinner table
