yes, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We are taking a load of wood to Mom's and then come back and finish some odds and ends. The weather was gorgeous yesterday and promises to be the same today.

Last night the Blue Jays WON!!! now to wait to see who they play next.

I was on the roof patching the chimney flashing and doing a roof inspection. My neighbor was on his roof doing the same. He asked when I was going to start burning. I said it is going right now. 600 degrees STT.

    This is why we hoard.

Mom's wondering if she will ever burn all the wood campinspecter is bringing her. She doesn't realize that she is nearly three years ahead due to all his hard work. Right now it is easier to get and not too far away.

Last year our neighbour across the street wanted to know why campinspecter was putting wood in the wood shed. Did we sell it? We don't burn it, do we? He never sees any smoke from the chimney?

My first burn this season was this morning. The IS is still running now on the same load of wood, this thing is amazing.
Comfy at 74 deg and a nice bed of coals since it was lit at 7 am.

Just got bad news from the mechanic...transmission is shot in my truck - clutch bits and what not in the pan.

I thought backing up at 10mph and dropping it straight into first would re-synchronize everything:faint:

I would ask about getting a "built" or otherwise beefed up trans. The 4L60E has been around awhile and I'm sure there are aftermarket options that are more durable than the built-to-a-pricepoint stocker.

Spent part of the morning getting more studs cut and the top plate on. A couple of us were able to start early and a couple more later on in the morning.

Then on to building the walls. We are adding our bracing/strapping on before we put them up. And finding out just how heavy they are with all that full dimension wood!:faint:

Figuring out some things as we go along and worked some bugs out of the process today as well. I think things will move along a little quicker tomorrow. All in all a good day.

Kinda shocked right now. Just got approved for one of those 0% balance transfer fee CC's for 21 months. Was approved for way more than I needed, so that takes care of 4 cards. Home Depot, bye bye. Kohls- c-ya. Cabelas, it's been fun. I forget the other one but whatever.
21 months? phfft, done in 12. That will be nice.
Gotta save where I can, planning on giving Woody a chunk next spring for that KQ-380.

That's why my personal preference is manuals. Can you even find a new truck with a manual tranny these days?
(* not a tranny named manuel - sillies  )

Nice to get to this point:thumbs:
    Better when it's done!
So it kinda looks like you've done a sorta hybrid windlace? I like it, but can ya bring the camera a little closer to the framing?
Overall, my back hurts from looking at present and past pics of that fully dimensioned lumber:faint:
    Keep it going!:salute:

Caffeine time. Made a trip to Lowes last night to get a couple things I needed for today. Then, while laying in bed last night remembered the other thing I needed! :picard:So I'll have to run over and be there at 7 when they open.

    Don't feel bad.
Sometimes while I'm at work, I need something from the truck so I leave the basement and walk out to the truck to get it, right? Once I'm there, I can't remember what the heck it was, so I just grab something else to save face and go back to the basement!

(partner)....Why did you grab the screws?

(me)...I thought we'd be needing some more.

(partner)...You forgot what you went out there for again, didn't you?

 ... I've done that too Yoops. My "bare face hangin' out" thing is, I'll lay paperwork "plans" on top of a tool I'm using, and then spend 15 minutes looking all over the shop for it, getting pizzed off about it along the way.
I know, I know... why don't I look under any paperwork first... :picard:... probably because I know it couldn't be under there again...
