Hoping to get some more painting done tonight. Been painting my house all summer. Have some railings & deck trim and the main house is done. That's about it.

I had a company do the roof though. I've done a lot of shingle roofs in the past but never metal and this is hopefully my "forever home" so I wanted to put a "forever roof" on it. 40 year warranty. ON THE ROOF PAINT!

OK a few month ago I parked next to the porch.. wife backs out of garage and hits my car.. that is my fault because I do not usually park there.. Ummm.. OK .. even though I had gone to pick something up for her... that's not the bad part..
She cracked bumper on her Subaru.. and the 17 year old Saab has no visible damage.. that is my fault too because.. her 2 yo pretty Forrester has a hole size of a quarter on it by the reflector... and my old car doesn't... you aren't going to win this battle... give her a hug and say yes dear... I should have picked it up .... stay happily married

 

Woke up at 3AM feeling like my head might actually explode...or implode...not sure which. Still feel like crap. Hoping things get better soon...too much stuff to do.

If somebody told me they were going to paint their house red with yellow trim it would sound pretty stupid....but that looks awesome.

Well, with narrower car she get wider garage door.. why we won't say ... i still won't trade her for all tea in China.. I also will teach daughter how to parallel park, hill start.. etc., but she has earned nick name led foot lucy.. 18 months ago when she had Saab, I got old car when she got new one... she wiped off exhaust by going over rail road tracks at 40 mph... tracks are on a hill, clearly states 15 mph... a man has to chose his battles... but new Subaru has better ground clearance.. I am not perfect either... she won't change now... her mom 72 drives same way... don't get me wrong she drives well, just not always aware of surroundings...

 

We tried dozens and dozens of color combinations. Our town has a lot of old houses that are a "heritage cream" color that went great with the red. Actual colors are "Country Redwood" and "Haystack" from Benjamin Moore. Hard part is finding gutters to match. Still on the hunt.

 

Worse comes to worse if you cannot color match the gutters, make them the same colour as the new roof. Since the gutters hug the bottom of the roof you will still have some of the yellow showing on the bottom of the facia................

 

Imagine how the poor cows feel.............................

 

Looking very nice. I like rottiman's suggestion to colour match the gutters with the roof.
