That is so true of sliding glass doors. I took the one we had out. got sick of it freezing up. Put in a nice wooden atrium door. Works much better.

You know all this so this this is singing to the choir. It is a hard decision to make, however as you know, the long term is the priority. Your son needs to be safe. Safe to grow up and have a productive life and healthy old age. Brains that are banged up have side effects. Let him play, but only if he has adequate protection either through supervision or safety equipment. Once he is an adult, it is up to him. You said he got hurt twice in a couple days. Perhaps there are safety issues that need to be addressed there. My son had s concussion so bad that he lost 3 months of his memory. Not sports related. After that, he had ADHD. Very smart young man, but he wasn't able to go on to college because he couldn't hold still long enough in the classroom.

Oh dear, that is when you do the right thing, but then, is it the right thing? You did what you would have wanted done if the dog had been yours. Maybe you could swing by a couple times to see if the dog is ok.. poor thing.

Is that garage raised up? Nice job. Lot of hard work there. Always harder to do it over than to do it from the ground up.

20+ days of 90 degree weather this summer in N.E., It is nice to have some cooler weather. We are down around 9" of rain. There is talk of mid to high 40's tonight, some areas upper 30's. I'll keep the windows shut tonight.

Have you ever had one of those conversations with someone who is offended by everything? I had one today.

I kept my mouth shut and nodded politely but all I really wanted to do was throw a steak, a crucifix, and an AR-15 on the table and walk away.

If I wasn't at work it probably would have gone a lot differently.

I an't be the only one who feels this way' but I'll be the first to speak out. No offense intended.

Get him out of there! No more playing football! Concussion on the JV team? Bad luck and not intentional (maybe) but at any rate those type of injuries will be with him forever. Knees, shoulders, etc.----he has more life to live than being on a football team!

Got three loads of firewood hauled today. Tomorrow is supposed to be a chance of wet all day, so there's no time better than the present, no?

NO way...single car unattached with a 5" pour. No money for that in my budget. We put a few sheets of wire grid and added fiberglass to the mix.
I don't use it for a car, it's my workshop

Well done. I was able to get 3 rows into the shed today myself. Figure I've got another 3 to 3 1/2 to go. Rainy weekend forecast for here on the weekend, so tomorrow is go, go....go.

We are thinking hard about his continuation of this sports activity, but that depends on how he gets along. He looks better in the eyes and facial expressions than yesterday. But he's still got a lingering headache (getting better though)... So hopefully by Monday he'll be able to go back to school... The school academics are our priority, sports come second. That's why he's in College Preparatory School... Its been a eye opening experience in how his reaction to getting this concussion...
