I stopped in at the local farm stand today. I picked up some corn and green beans to go with grilled brats tonight.

We are in an extreme drought here, down close to 8" of rain. I drove by 3 small ponds that were just about dried up. A blue heron was picking the last of whatever was left in the mud in one of them.

I drove down few side roads and trees are not vibrant green. They look like a sickly drab green. It is really tough going. I think I mowed the lawn 5 times all summer. Maybe some of the tropical depressions down south will head up the coast and bring some rain onshore.

We are finally starting from the ground up...... image.jpeg
Putting it right where they want it with a front chute 6x6, nice.

This long side was tricky. Too sloped for my liking. But he knew what he was doing and he did it. Went all the way down through and they never had to use a wheel barrow.

    Just a 3 man crew?
Did they vibrate as it was poured?
I see massive progress on the near horizon. This is a huge step forward. Gooder job.

Done. Two long sides and one end were 16" wide. image.jpeg

This other end was done 20" wide to spread it out a little more. We had to tear a couple stumps and debris out of some softer soil and replace with better bank run gravel. So I thought it would be better to widen it out through here. Two rows of 1/2" rebar throughout the entire thing.

Blocks and grout to be completed Friday.

fishingpol it is bad, when the grass is dead in June it is gonna be a long summer. I mow up a dust storm about every 3 weeks, even then only 1/3 of my lawn is actually green.
