Same here...so far fingers, toes and everything else crossed that it stays OK

I bought the house after it was built and told that it had to be done that way due to proximity to the river? Dont know if that was a load of crap, but I was young and uninformed at the time.

Well we just finished cleaning many cubic yards of mess off the long deck. Supposed to get some weather this evening and the boss was getting worried. Now I'm exercising my elbow by lifting a beer mug with an English Bitter in it. Maybe tomorrow I'll bottle my mead. That stuff seems to take forever. When I racked it the first time I had a little bit I put in a bottle, we set that in the fridge and the boss would try it every couple of weeks, it always was fermenting. I have another batch of honey and the ingredients for an imperial stout. I don't know which I'll do next.

    lukem,

Remain positive. If things continue like this you could invite some friends over for swimming down there if you wanted.

I hate when people do that. My brother is that way. Have only cut wood with him twice... I have one good friend that I can rely on, the rest just talk out their back side.

There's the difference, I just got the one. I'm a bit of an introvert.

It hit 50 degrees today, finally nice enough to be out for a while. I cut up a bunch of broken oak snow stakes, pallets and various scraps of wood for kindling. I already have a full trash bucket full. I topped off the mud oven overhead storage rack with some of this pile.

I had the little fishes out today learning to split. All just pine and fir scraps. My maul was too big for them, so I let them use my heavy hatchet. I really need to get a small maul for them. I may just go get a longer handle and switch it out on the heavy hatchet head. No one lost any toes.

Their pile. The oak split was too much, but they tried like heck.

I was still sore from going bowling yesterday. I overdid it. Bowling should not hurt.

Cleaned up the tree line from the storm we had just before Christmas. Some of the ends are rotted at the bottom. But the saw will take care of that.

Used the 55 Rancher for it and one log I had left to buck up by the barn. Man that thing runs great..

Got about 3 or 4 times more left to grab.
