No sir about 5 hrs away I haul from literally two blocks from my house. You'd be amazed at the demand for milk I know I was when I started pulling it. There's companies that haul nationwide too. We don't thankfully!

Great! Glad for you Pete. Hope all goes well. Watch out for those distracted drivers. There are a lot of them out there. :picard:

Yes, it's crazy the temperature difference from the coast to inland can make.

My oldest brother lives in Portland. He was just at Depot Bay.

Weekend at the coast gets crowded, especially when it's mega hot inland.

As the sun burns off the fog, you should have some great photo ops.

Well, woke up to rain this morning but it looks like it might be clearing off. I think we hit 74 yesterday in our heat wave. today is the last day of holidays. Back to the school tomorrow and walking in the dark in the mornings. It has been a great summer for me this year and the weather has been pretty good as well. got a few things done that I wanted to and other things will have to wait until another time.

Cut the grass for the 2nd time in 4 days. It grew 4 inches since Wednesday from all the rain we have had.

I was able to all get the grass cut at the house. But the camp needs it bad. And there is probably 4-5 acres there. Looking like tomorrow night before I can start on it. Might have to have the kids do it while Mom watches them during the day tomorrow.

    Check fluids. Done.
    Fill with gas. Done.

    Ooooohh kids?

I guess what I meant to ask is "are you hauling milk from Ovid to Canton" or the other way around?
I was gonna say that is a bit surprising if you are hauling from MI, as OH is a big dairy production state, but I just looked up the stats, Ohio is #11 nationwide, Michigan is #8! I had no idea. http://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LE...oduction/RK=0/RS=yaSPWDUTQ_2WnjKEJf0iHBV7dA8-
I guess I need to remember that even though Wayne county Ohio is #1 in Ohio milk production (the neighbor milks ~3000 cows 3 X per day) Ohio as a state is slipping in the national milk production ranking. The smaller farmers are dropping like flies and developers often end up with the land.

That sounds great Pete. You are welcome any time. Funny that Judy and I just came back in the house and one of the places we were walking in is one of those cherry trees that I said some day Pete will get it!

Indeed Ovid to Ohio. We haul all the way to PA and WI too on another account. It goes wherever needed. Milk is possibly the most demanded product I have hauled too it's 365 24/7 days a year. I work every other day and spend about 16 to 17 hrs working. We do the unloading, tank washing, sanitizing of equipment and more. It's actually a fun job and because it's every other day 17 hrs is easy.

The surprise to me wasn't Ohio but Wisconsin that one really surprised me! I've always seen more tanks there than anywhere in the Midwest. My area is huge in cattle and corn. The farm trucks are everywhere... The dairy and granary in town literally saved our community when GM went bust.

I find I am more proud to haul milk than any job I have had both driving an others. We get to support the local community and the people show their appreciation every chance they can. Shoot the guys where I am today bought Stromboli for the drivers a few days ago! It's just a good vibes job.

Mama never said son do your math one day you'll be a milk man! SURPRISE:rofl:

Pete, yesterday I learned of another large cow herd that is going in near North Star. Supposed to be around 10,000 milking cows! To put that into perspective for you, Green Meadows, near Elsie milks around 3,000 head.
