Not certain, probably assisting Search & Rescue around Grays and Torreys (14'ers close by). There was a lot of S&R vehicles and people there so someone got lost or hurt on the mountain.

I just got into a mess of them also but I got lucky and saw them start swarming out of the ground so I took off running. Still ended up with a half dozen stings...... All I have to say is I wish I hadn't been wearing shorts and I'm glad no one can see me in my back yard....

Edit: I should have added those suckers are gonna die tonight

That sure seems like a nice job for you. I'm not so hot about the tanker with no baffles. :hair:. However, when driven by a competent driver, they seem to be as safe as most other stuff. Thing that concerns me is icy roads and unpredictable actions of other drivers. I'm sure you are doing your part to keep the roads safe. After all, you want to come home too!

Off to see the Jason Bourne tonight at 7:30 with my wife. Does Matt Damon get old?

A cup of diesel fuel down the entrance hole after dark, cover it with a little dirt and you have the complete package, execution and burial all @ once...................

How have you been Larry? How's the garden coming along?

Ya it's a trip that's for sure... I have done all kinds of other hauling on and off for many years but this one takes the cake.... Chemicals can have baffles but because of the hard to clean areas food grade tankers can't by law. It's very enjoyable but boy it can beat a guy up too... All in all I wouldn't trade this job unless something goes very bad it is a specialty field. If you can haul a smooth bore tank you can haul anything as the saying goes and it pays like it...

I'm sure you'd rather be empty or completely full rather than anywhere in between.

Most dairy loads are filled to the top except a little air space for expansion of the fluids. I have had a few half tanks though they will beat the crap out of the truck and make shift timing a challenge. Just don't shift going up a hill...

Helped at the museum fair booth. It's in an old country store moved to the fairgrounds.

I snapped a picture of the old stove they used when it was a store.

My oldest son and his fiance came to the fair and we watched the demo derby together. Good times.

Very nice to hear you are happy with your job, and your ability to be home with your family.
The garden is productive. More string beans than either my son or I can use. Cucumbers and summer squash are bountiful. Pea pods are delicious. The broccoli is all gone as is the spinach. But we have swiss chard, and brussels sprouts and lettuce.
peppers are huge. the tomatoes are only giving cherry tomatoes for now. The big ones will be in latter. I have both pole and bush beans. That gives us plenty right up until frost. Don't know why, but I don't tire of them. Just steam them, add a tad of butter, a bit of salt and pepper and yum! And how is your garden? Getting enough to feed the family?

What kind of boots are those? They look very much like my old, beat up pair of Garmont mountain climbing boots. They were great for protecting feet and ankles, and comfortable to walk in. Had them re-soled twice; I wore them for everything - on the bike, yard work, winter stuff. They are semi-retired and only used for yard work now. Wish I could find a pair like them again.

Warm and muggy here this morning... Just got done picking okra this morning... Hopefully this week they will start production... Lots of buds and getting more blooms. Been slow this year so far, about two weeks late I'm thinking.... But with 3 rows at 75ft... I should be getting some here soon...

    Cabelas brand made by meindl.
They are normally $300, but I got them off the clearance rack for $150.

I've bought garmont boots at Sierra trading post.com before. Maybe check there?
