Got a really good soaking all day yesterday, and it was sorely needed and much appreciated. A little heat now, and the lawn will be much happier, not to mention the cornfields in the area also. Thanks Mother Nature.......................

Last night my wife and I went to a friends house with a few other couples to do the fire pit thing.
My buddies son came out later on and sat with us, we got to talking about world events and he told us
that he won't watch the news anymore. I'm a big news kind of guy but I also get his point, there is so much
violence happening everyday that it's commonplace now. He chooses to shield himself from negativity
and he says he feels better that he does. Hard to say for me, not sure I could do that and not be informed.

Does anyone else not watch the news, read the newspaper or alike?

I just looked at a map for our area, in the last three days we had about 1.5 inches of rain which helped out some.

The Brasher area received more rain in an hour yesterday than we did in three days.

It looks like we might have some strong storms for the north country later Thursday night, I'm sure that the forecast will change before Thursday.

I am not an avid news junkie but I like to be aware of events that happen. With my work schedule, I don't get to see the news much and I 'd rather be surfing FHC than news websites. campinspecter usually lets me know if anything big happens. I find newspapers are pretty repetitious and news casts all sound the same.

LOL Hey, that second load of firewood came last night. It turned out that guy I was telling you about is straight forward and a good guy. And now my wife and kids are out stacking it. :dex:

I never watch the news. I read the headlines on Google news so I at least understand what's going on...but I watched my dad turn into a grumpy old man by spending too much time getting upset about what's on the news. Not for me.

Give it up for a week and see how you feel.

My bride has been working hard on her flower garden and the yard.

Here is a portion of her wild flowers patch.

Behind the wild flowers she has a big patch of sunflowers.

I finished up milling on the ash log. These are for my buddy in Wisconsin.

Not sure if or what he can use the little one for, maybe a cutting board or something?

I'm seriously thinking about it. I'm on vacation this week, so tomorrow I go back. Usually right when I get up I turn on the TV and watch the 5 am news, I think tomorrow I'll try something new. When I get to work I used to catch the end of the 7am news, not sure what i will do there.
