What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

A neighbor decided it was time he cleaned out his gutters while the storm is moving in, it makes you wonder.

 

Well, I guess I was right on the short day for me......7 hours!

Hmmph! Got the grass finished here and now its off to the lake-to cut that grass!

 

The temperature drop 25 degrees but nothing 4 storms.

 

We got a little rain. Better than none I guess. But we need 50 times that amount slowly over a couple days time. I don't see much in the forecast.

 

Low of 51 tonight.

A good day today. After the outside work, and waiting for the storm that never came, I threw a home made pizza sauce together. Then I cut up some fresh veggies and made a platter with some ranch dressing. Had invited one of my brothers and his wife and grand daughter over for dinner. And my parents as well. We all had a nice home made pizza meal together and a visit. I had a two beers while preparing the food in the late afternoon. Wait. Okay three. Then hung out with my family while we all relaxed after eating too much. Comfy. Time for bed.

NICE! Glad for ya. Three day weekend here.

 

Put together a milling toolbox tonight. Headed to the camper tomorrow am for the weekend. Once I get the grass cut and weed eaten, the Alaskan mill, 066, and Shawn Curry chain will eat it's first log. That is....if I can dodge rain.

Caffeine going down. Time to finish splitting and stacking the rest of the firewood this morning. Should only take a couple hours to get it done and everything cleaned up. Then it will be off to a family get together for lunch and part of the afternoon.

 

Re-charging after a visit from the grandsons on Thursday and a trip yesterday to the cabin to mow and clean things up a bit there. Looks as though we're going to have to either get serious about getting an excavator up there to clear the alders, or forget it altogether (fat chance). My son and son in law will never have enough time to try and do it a little at a time. The alders come back within 3 years at 8'-10' high. Unreal. The only possible real scenario is it has to be "down" enough to mow. We'll see how things go this summer (if we can come up with the $$ first) and maybe in late August or Sept, get it cleared out. BTW... there's an old stone wall going down through the middle of the area to be cleared. It will remain in place.

What a beautiful day for working outside! Red Pine - I needed some more decking boards for another firewood pallet, and I also need to clean up some of the dead pine out of this stand. July and August is breeding time for pine bark beetles. Two birds, one stone. I'll get a bit of nice dimensional lumber out of it too.

 

Built and used my first sawmill...what a blast! Lots to learn and lots of room for improvement!
