Caffeine time. Today begins with getting breakfast for family. Then I need to drop off wife at work after we leave her car at my brothers garage. Two lines need replacing to the air conditioner. (Going to be hot this summer, better get that done for her.) and both struts need to be replaced. All parts already ordered. This will be a big bill. Ugh.

Then it's back home to start work around the horse area. Won't be long before we are ready to plant grass. Wife has found a decent horse pasture grass. Hopefully plant on Sunday. Actually, better do it Saturday night before it rains Sunday.

I think we're in the same boat today with the A/C lines excepting I'll be getting paid for doing it! Have to install 2 new systems in existing houses today. Got a bit of a start on one yesterday, so that'll help out.

Sounds like the guy from work that hadn't called/responded for three (boss said it was four weeks now) is in Mexico for the summer. o_O
May be due to health issues of family member.

Another guy had a pacemaker installed. Third guy is just plain sick with what could be a nasty summer cold.

Yooper has been moved up to full time for the summer and now I'll be in a pinch for gathering wood-maybe. Life goes on.
Glad to have a job, but sometimes, not so much of one!

Our busy season failed to materialize . Baffled to say the least considering we had an open winter with little to no snow since mid February and a beautiful spring . That said a lot of projects and maintenance is right up to par on all front line equipment .
Many projects I've put off for years are in the works . Me likey!

    im like totalllllyyy bummed now.

I took the last 2 days off from work for personal reason.
    Today, i return..

Well, tomorrow im planning on going drag racing.
Ive got a 71 Chevelle my Dad helps me with, i just put a new Steve Schmidt 584ci engine
in it this winter along with a brand new powerglide transmission..

Well, we had planned on racing tomorrow like i said, my Dad just hit me up and he cant go.
This guy is the main man of my operation. He knows all the technical stuff, he's got 10x the
    experience i got.

So... i get to go racing by my self, first time out for 2016.. Brand new engine and trans, not knowing
    what problems will arise.

Luckily a friend is coming with and im going to put him to work for sure.

I told my Dad to have his cell phone on and handy.
He says he's gotta work. He also said he'll come out when he gets off from work if all is well and
    im still in the money.

Racing for $12k tomorrow... Wish me good luck guys and gals..
I broke my back in 2011 from a bad racing accident and ive only been down the track 6 times since.
Broke my back again last fall, some of you know about it.

Im just hoping that i can concentrate and allow me, to do me and not get caught up in something
else where i cant focus and do well at the starting line.

    TGIF!

I hit the road at 4am tomorrow.

Tough time of the year to grow grass? I don't know if pastures are different but for lawns and turf we usually seed in September.

You are much farther north than I am tho and if your highs will stay out of the 80's for some time yet you may still be good to go?

Seeding a yard is hard here any time between mid-April and mid-September, unless you are willing to water almost every day.

Yup. I'll try to give it some water every other day if we are not getting any rain. And hope for the best. Don't know if I'll be ready to plant Saturday night or not.

I picked up an extended cab chevy pickup last week and yesterday I took the backseat out. I told my wife the only reason I get this style truck is for the dogs, they need room to be comfortable too. Anyways, the space between the seat being raised and the rear of the front seats seemed to be too narrow compared to the Dodge I had before this, so I took the entire seat out. Just got back from Jo Ann fabrics after picking up some canvas type cloth and some 2" foam. I built the platform yesterday, now to tie it all together.

Cheap water timer on a garden hose will work wonders. And it usually doesn't' forget to water the grass. ;)  Depending on the area where the seed goes down, you may need to water daily or 2x a day.

(Usually saves more $$ in seed than you spend on the timer)

This week kicked my butt. Work has been capital "C" crazy, 4 baseball teams for a total of 8 games in 4 days, plus all the mowing/gardening/chickens, a 4 week old baby who apparently hates sleeping when it's dark out, and I don't even know what else. It's all good, but I'm exhausted.

    Did somebody say beer?

Not sure how a four day work week seemed like seven but it did. Haven't had a chance to help out a fellow member yet (Chvymn99 ) but I promise to tomorrow. :)

We had some calls go out to two fire departments for what must be a fire in the woods southeast of us by 10 miles, not hearing much action on the scanner at this moment.

It's up near a hunting club, I think they just found it from what just came over the scanner.

Pulled a couple extra shifts for one of the guys on vacation.
Ran some quick numbers and after ~20hrs I'm writing work a check for 16$/hr for being there.

Mowed a bunch of grass today while waiting for my neighbor to finish up the grapple conversion. Glad I got it done before the rain starts on Sunday.

My neighbor was nice enough to let me borrow his Kubota tractor so I could York Rake some of the horse area. Good to have good neighbors! Hopefully get some seed down tomorrow evening.
