Just after blooming. If you wait too long into the year, you won't get a good bloom the next year. If you don't mind having an off year, you can pretty much prune them anytime - they usually like a good pruning, so don't be shy about it.

That is the test I dread - my left eye is really no good; even with the best correction they can give me - it is the distortion & double vision more than anything - not good for actual reading. So I have to pray that they give me my right eye first.

Probably 15 years ago they gave me my left eye first. I sat there saying um, um, um. and the lady was like, "Come on, you can do it." I managed to pull back out of the eye piece just enough to get my right eye a quick glimpse and I was good . She was relieved that she didn't have to flunk me.

Yup, my right eye is bad. I've got something like 20/240 vision. They didn't do one eye at a time. Just both, and read a few lines... then the light on both side thing. That was it. As I said... I'm not complainin'. I can see to drive no problem. Now, if I could just remember where I'm going...

I would think that all states should test both eyes and not one eye at a time?
We don't drive around with one eye covered after all.

As I entered the Dave Cave this morning and turned the computer on, I noticed a fair amount of water from the sump pump pit.
It seems the switch on the pedestal pump did not make contact and the crock overflowed to the tune of about 3".
I had to work the switch back and forth a few times before it made good contact and fired up. It has been working just fine since then and the floor only has one small damp spot on it now.
The carpet remnant placed in front of the work benches is another story though....still drying out over a couple saw horses!

Had to meet with a contractor for an asphalt bid also.

Between the two, There was no cottage time today as I had planned for. Dang it.

Yes, there are always those types around.
I draw the line when the driver is doing dangerous things, out of stupidity, negligence, or being drunk.

Make darn sure to mess up the right of way rules for 4 way stop signs. :hair:

It seems like most people have no clue how those work.

Everybody but me the cautious one with over a ton in the back of the ancient stick shift Blazer that does NOT get going quickly nor stop as fast as it does empty, I ended up inching out slowly after all three other directions kept taking turns. When people see the old scary truck they cautiously let me go by  :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

PS, it also worked quite well in crowded parking lots for shopping on holidays, tight turning radius and people get out of my way. It has a really nice honk too if I need to blow the horn:whistle:

Probably why all the mountain towns are going to round-a-bouts. No worries about the "Alto" signs or interrupting your next text message.

11 days, 2-3 weeks, whatever. In the long run it's worth it. Goes bye before you even know it.

NH has been testing each individual eye since I moved here in the late 80's. Came from KS where they just cared about total vision. And I know I've seem one-eyed people driving (even on bikes), so there must be someway to get around it - but they don't test both eyes at the same time, so I'm unsure how that works.
