I was 12 when the Beatles hit the big time. It makes me feel old to think about it. I actually didn't like them at first. Nor the Rolling Stones when they became popular. I guess somethings just grow on you.

One of my good friends who was just pronounced as in remission from leukemia was scheduled to get his bone marrow transplant today but e docs called it off and said they need to run a few tests. Did a pet scan came back and told him the leukemia had moved from the blood stream and was now through out his liver, pancreas, kidneys, and pretty much the majority of his soft tissue. They sent him home and basically said all they could offer is a drug trial at this point.

I can't even imagine how it feels to hear that. Worst part is he has a 13 and 10 year old son as well as his wife. I feel so bad for them I have no idea what to even say. Texted him and told him i would be down to see him. Dang it sure puts things in perspective....... That bad day at work or or argument you had with your wife seems like such trivial things and in the grand scheme don't matter at all. When you get home tonight tell your family you love them life's short.

Since it is all kinds of cold here and I want to work in the shop tomorrow I built a fire in the shop stove tonight to try to take the edge off for tomorrow. Just loaded the second load of the evening (tulip poplar ). Planning on building the 2nd of 5 new kitchen cabinets tomorrow.

Found out I'm getting a new job at work today. Haven't decided how I feel about that yet. I think it will be a good thing though. I think. Should be a good "career move", but a grind for the next several months. I think. Better drink a few more beers and ruminate (my vocabulary seems to get better after a few beers) on it some more.

Got my federal tax return today...trying to resist the urge to go buy a saw to replace my now dead 361. Must....resist....chainsaw....purchases.... Thinking REAL hard on biting the bullet and getting one of those new-fangled 50CC auto-tune saws...then a 70CC

Turned 48 on Friday. My wife and kids took me out for dinner and a movie. The Monuments Men was a good film. The reviews aren't being kind but we enjoyed it.

Saturday afternoon we're all going to a matinee showing of The Lego Movie. My 17yo son has been a Lego maniac since he was a toddler, still is frankly, so this flick should be fun.
