Tried to hit the zoo today with the family but it was an absolute.... zoo.

Drove back home, and took the family fishing. Our maiden voyage, my daughter caught her first fish. Women 2: Men 0.

Beautiful days to take off, low 70s and today a nice breeze.

Got the oil changed in my wifes minivan, and apparently now I need a special wrench to get these ridiculous new fandangled oil filters apart. Way to screw up a simple job Toyota (or is it EPA?)

Hope to get some wood stacked and the rest of the poles cut up this weekend. I like stacking in daylight but it feels like such a waste of a good day.

It obviously was a lot worse than the flu. Last Friday they emergency landed in Illinois, an hour by plane from the twin cities. It obviously was bad enough to have him go to the hospital an hour early.

I just hope that his doctor didn't misdiagnose what did him in, and just the public wasn't told the truth.

The guy was super talented, wrote a ton of songs for even other artists, and could play every instrument.

I wasn't a big fan, mostly because he was a staunch Vikings fan, but there's no denying his musucal talent.

    RIP.

Today is national sandwich day. Jimmy John's had $1 subs from 11-3pm today. Tried that with a co-worker. Lol. The line was out the door and the shop near work is abnormally slow for a Jimmy John's. That wouldn't been a half hour wait.

I love a good deal on great food, but my time is worth more than saving $4 on a sub.

We got subway instead. No wait.

Up since 4:45 this morning. And on my feet for a loooooong time. Almost ready to call it a day and get some shut eye. Checking out a few things on the internet and texting with my oldest daughter down South.

Now there's talk that Prince was given a "save shot" for drug overdose in Illinois, hence the emergency landing in Moline.

We have been missing access to our stove and 1/2 the sink for a few days having the floor leveling dry, do microwave meals count as roughing it?

I slept well last night. Time to get everyone moving. I'll get some things done around the house this morning and then work some O.T. this afternoon. But will be home for dinner.

A gajillion years ago, when the Ex and I were building a house, we moved in before the anything was there besides a tub, toilet, bathroom sink (a 24" vanity - not one of those behemoth's you see in houses today), the bathroom walls were sheetrocked (not mudded or painted) and the boiler/FHW system was in. The microwave and fridge were in the living room. For variety, we cooked on the hibachi. Dishes were done in the tub. 6 months later we finally had the kitchen in so we could quit roughing it.
