I would question the mental health of anyone choosing anything at Lowe's over Lacretes/North Country at those prices.

Oil has to have steered them away from those BBS in some sort of way. And the pellet house prices must have also had an effect on those stacks we are seeing.. Plus the warmth hasn't helped any.

The ones that have bought from the BBS are pre-programmed thinkin its the going rate!! Don't bother much to shop around any!!

    Amen to that.

Lowes in Greenland is still at 5.99/bag for Inferno Gold. 285/ton for Lacretes and I also saw home heating oil at 1.69 on the same day. They just dont get it.

Its kind of comical that big box thinks that they have a handle on the "all pellets are the same" but cant correlate that Inferno and Greene Teame are not top shelf. With oil being so low and true [premium running around 285, maybe if they sold Greene Supreme at 229 and Inferno Gold at 239 they may be more on target.

I'd definitely take some of those prices, But will splurge on some premiums too. I think its gonna be a good spring for the buyers! ;)

:tree:And the upside is that we can see the difference in real premium pellets .

Due to such a warm start to this burning season, I haven't got into a real good burn yet. I haven't ran for days at a time yet. What I have burnt so far that I really have liked are the Freedom Pellet, which is a re-bagged Hamer product. I haven't burnt 15 hours a day with any pellet this year yet, but maybe 2 or 3 times. With the freedom pellet, there was next to nothing as far as ash in stove. I would still clean the stove, just because burning in such low temp conditions, you get more carbon build-up in the burn pot. I would like to see what happens if I could get off low burn & burn for several days without shutting down. Over all the years (9), that I have been burning pellets, I have NEVER seen that least amount of ash from any hardwood pellet. I like them! I haven't had the chance to burn a lot of softwoods, because they are hard to come by in my area. You just don't see them a lot. But I did get a ton of Blazer's from Home Depot last year and really liked them. I still have a 1/2 ton of them in the garage. These Freedom pellets remind me a lot of them, but in a hardwood form. Heat wise, I now low burn has been keeping our house, warm enough so far. I really don't know what heat they are capable of producing, until it gets really cold out and I have to crank her up for several days, but at least the ash end of it looks promising.

The Barefoot pellets were good! When I bought those to test burn, I also got (2) other kinds to test also, Pennwood & Freedom (Re-bagged Hamer) pellets. I couldn't tell much heat difference between them all. But the Freedom pellets shined in the ash department. There was next to no ash after a 15 hour burn. The Barefoot had a nice fluffy ash that cleaned up nicely and the Pennwood, they were ok. I would not hesitate to buy any of them again. The Barefoot's where the most expensive out of all of them. So with that said, the Freedom won me over, do to the ash. Freedom & Pennwood cost the same. They were about $30 cheaper a ton then the Barefoot.

NO! These are different. These are called Freedom Pellet, NOT Freedom Fuel. They are different bags. I posted a picture of the Freedom Pellet bag. I don't have a bag for Freedom Fuel, never burned them & heard they weren't to good.

Still haven't tried those. Only seen at BigY around these parts and they want silly $$ for them.

Same here for the silly $$ on the Inferno Gold. I still bought 2 bags at 5.98 each to try them-I just HAD to.

If they drop the price to under 250/ton, they are well worth the $$ this year

Lowes in Rochester went UP on the Greene Supreme to 350 this past weekend ...:hair:....:picard:

That reminds me-I have to get hold of my neighbor as they usually pick up a ton at a time from HD. I want to let them know about McManus since HD is still at 259/ton and I think he is at 285 for way better pellets.

    Never heard of those..

From their website: Started producing Oct of 2014...not great timing fr them. Interested to see how they are for 259/ton.
