As soon as I grab that 461 from the dealer Sunfish, this will be its diet. 40:1. 1.25 gallons to 4 oz.

The higher the octane level of fuel, the lower the actual power output is. This is why higher octane fuels are harder to detonate, and thus prevent pinging in high compression engines. The power difference is marginal, but most definitely present. This is why cars designed to run on 87 octane generally don't benefit from a higher octane fuel.

HP Ultra is good stuff, but I was getting too much carbon and crud left behind when mixing 32:1. Best to use Ultra at 50:1. I also used to run a lot of orange bottle Stihl oil, but lot of carbon with that stuff at 40-50:1. Lucas at 32:1 is burning super clean in my saws, no carbon & no smoke.

I use to run all busy XP oil at 40:1. I never saw any carbon although I think I read that randy and terry said it was one of the worst offenders. I ran it in a stock ms390 for about 6-7 years but most of that time I did not run a gallon a year.

I was just going to ask if anyone had any experience with the Lucas Semi-Sythetic 2-Cycle Oil. Our TSC in Canada has all Lucas oil products on sale 40% off.

The lucas makes 8 gallons for $1.25 a gal 32:1.
    Motul is $2.50 a gal
    Maxima K2 was $2 a gal
    Klotz is $1.50 a gal

Last 6 pack of ultra was $14 with tax for 6 gallons so it was $2.50 a gal.
