Its back together. I removed all carbon from piston, combustion chamber and exhaust port. Freed up the ring and cleaned the ring grove. I polished the edges of the pits where the plating is chipped. Flap sanded the bore some. Deleted base gasket. It has noticeably more power. I'll get a video today. Those pits are below the ring travel area so maybe the plating wont flake off. I really have nothing to loose but my time, which, as a hobby, I don't count.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/GcWxjYiT2QeQvJ7F8 I wish I had thought to tach it before and after. You can hear it running higher RPM from the first video to this one. I'll run a few tanks through it. If it still acts and sounds like this, I might just buy that sawzillaparts.com proline piston kit for $25 and take a chance the plating stays put. We shall see. Its just a back-up unit as I have a nice echo handheld thats much newer that we bought new in 2016.
