Help my nephew rebuild this freebie 400 honda foreman He didn't clean the oil pump or reservoir And oil line's He did change the oil and filter But that wasn't enough Lasted 2 hour's on this new pro x piston.
And the poulan pro 335 Predator limited edition. This one I like and it will be enhanced beyond the rebuild.
Yep I have one of those that I dropped the cylinder on and bumped the compression up to about 180 psi. I also did some porting on the saw and advanced the timing. I use it for firewood cutting up in the mountains all the time. That was about 10 years ago. Still running good. 32-1 mix.
I think I'll give it to my nephew as a surprise after I'm finished fixing / modding it. He only has an Echo cs-310 and an Efco mt3500.
Best I can tell it was overheated from dull chain or theres a really bad air leak somewhere I haven't found yet. Look at the fines packed in this thing...
Somehow, the cylinder survived without scoring. I have no idea how. I had to use acid to remove the aluminum transfer and an 80 grit strip in a split mandrill with oil to put some "texture" back in there for the new piston and ring. Those lines are just polished lines. No scoring that I can see or feel.
I picked up this old 028 wood boss from a coworker who found it on the side of the road. It’s a bit of a basket case and needs an air filter, chain brake, side cover, bar and chain. The good news is it has decent compression and it does have spark. The carburetor looks brand new and it is stamped Stihl. I can work with this. I’ll pull the muffler to get a look at the piston before I get too far into it. With any luck I’ll be able to put a fresh ring in it and run it. Of course if I already have the cylinder off, what’s to stop me from cleaning up the ports a bit
Just a little routine maintenance on the “post apocalyptic” custom rear handle Echo CS370. It sat for 2-3 years and had a bit of a stumble coming off idle before revving up. I pulled the carb off for a good cleaning, and I'm going to get a new air filter and spark plug before getting it back together. For what it is this is a decent saw that has cut an untold mountain of wood since 2011 when I bought it.
