I tried out the hipa full chisel chain After a couple of tanks it stretched a little Like Oregon does then did good Actually cuts very good for out of the box 5.67 24" chain
My brother in law has one. My 201 out cut it sude by side in the same 10-12" beech. After I muff modded it, pulled the limiters and tuned it its much better but still a 311. He prefers his 15 year old 310
If I wear any out I guess I'll find out lol. I can't stand ANY screw in caps because they seem to tighten themselves in harder during use.
Finished the freebie 257 that I turned into a 262xp A secret squirrel sent me all the parts to finish it Nos 262 intake manifold, gaskets, air dam and a sticker I heat cycled it and tuned it in wood It's a strong little saw It's about a pound lighter than a 266xp
Fixed a ms250 for my neighbor For this series you can get am carb, lines, fuel filter, gaskets, air filter and even a coil for 18.00
Fixed three pieces of junk today These Eklind Ball end driver's are handy I don't have to take the bar's and chains off to remove the muffler's What absolute garbage these homeowner Husqvarna's are The freebie 257/262 walked all over them The only good thing about these saws is the pull start handles.
Finally got this 272 finished new seals, carb kit, fuel line, piston kit Then the original carb wouldn't stay tuned So I bought a am carb and it tuned in great and held it's tune He painted that topcover for some reason.
I've ran a buddy's 445 before quite a bit. It seemed fine. I assume its the same caliber as the above saws. Had I not been exposed to pro saws I wouldn't have known it was junk.
What makes them junk to me personally And I have worked on dozens and dozens of them over the year's the smaller homeowner huskys also Is they are not saws you can leave setting around They are plagued by carb, intake leaks, primer bulb and fuel line issues And underpowered the 445 felt the strongest I'm running 1980s 2 series that occasionally might need a carb kit These modern Husqvarna's can't make it a couple year's My neighbor bought a new 440 last year he's had it to me 4 time's for clutch, chain brake and carb issues And he only runs canned fuel and takes care of his equipment he's not happy.
I fixed the carb and put tubes in this gocarts tubeless tires That was biggest pain to put those tubes in I had to have a friend help seat the tires The owner was happy with it.
Out of a dozen saws I've been working on for a friend 5 were fried I'm rebuilding 2 ms290s I'll put a new piston in one and a aftermarket 390 kit in the other I'll see which one is stronger He gave me the 455 rancher I ordered a duke's popup piston for it I'll fix it and sell it I've already rebuilt and returned his 372 and 394 Apparently he or his worker's don't like to mix fuel and oil.
I fixed this auger New fuel lines, filter and a new Killswitch The guy had a wire wrapped around the spark plug boot Whoever ran it got the pizz shocked out of them shutting it off.
Rebuilding a fried 290 into a 390 With ft kit Had to use a pipe wrench to get the rear bar stud out Usually two bar nuts tightened on it would remove it but not on this one
Basically inherited dads old line trimmer. A Stihl FS45. Been around a day or four. The FS40 replaces it. Basically a different muffler is what I’m seeing different for a spark arrestor. Been sitting with gas in it since last time dad took it to the shop and said, “give it a once over and make it run.” Shop said, “we haven’t used those tickets in like 5-6 years.” Took the old carb apart and had to replace the primer bulb as it was broken. Cost me $4.30 just for the primer bulb. Still wouldn’t prime correctly much less run. replaced the carb and went all Veruca and went to the dealer for a new carburetor. New STIHL fuel line and carb were $55. Genuine Stihl Chinese parts here guys. Had I the patience to order from Amazon…. I’d rather support my local dealer though. He’s been very patient with me and gotten me things that’s taken some research on his part though. easy peasy to change the carb out. Best tool I’ve found for taking off the filter box on my trimmer and saws. The large side is the perfect fit and thickness for the nuts and the filter box clearance. thing runs like a dream and starts easily now. time to go to finish the yard work now.
