I have a fresh 064 in really nice condition. Doesn't get used often, but enjoy running it from time to time.
I'm in no way a saw elitist from my perspective When I started cutting and working on saws in the 80s Husqvarna ruled the industry locally Because of primarily cost alone. One good saw log would buy a powerhead The 266s were primary the choice of poplar/pine and hardwood fallers until 268/272/371/372s came along Same with 181/281/288/394/395s Stihls we're around 30% more expensive to run My brother has his own logging company For over 30 years. He could make those saws sing and was a very talented faller and timber Walker/pricer for everyone. He had many stihls I serviced this was before porting was a thing Some stihls were strong the 064s and some 066s But he just didn't buy many 044s Oddly his climbing saws were 017s lol He just simply liked the cutting speed of Husqvarna's and they were more economical to run. Jonsereds we're probably 2nd place in popularity then Stihl.
I worked on one of those for a guy awhile back. Only had a 20" bar on it. Mandatory to use the decomp EVERY pull of the handle, or it would yank it right through my fingers. Heavy SOB!
Ah. Ok. I'm planning on being at Denny's in April for his GTG barring any unforeseen life "stuff". I'll put some faces to FHC handles then.
Same here bud. I've met a bunch of good people through Kevin's GTG. I expect this to be more of that.
Oh, believe me, Chesaning GTG's are some of the most enjoyable ones I've ever been to. You should recognize at least one guy here..... There should be threads of all the GTG's we've had there at Backwoods Savage 's place. Aways look forward to that one.
Certainly recognize the big guy lol. I met Denny and Randy through his GTG. I'll be dragging my lil camper over and some baby saws.
Here's the I one from 2019 when leoht and his dad came over from Australia! Hope to see them blokes again someday! Live from the May 2019 Michigan GTG at Backwood Savage’s
