Round #2 just came off the Traeger I Tweaked my Brine and times a little bit, I enjoyed the first batch and got good reviews about it, but didn’t feel that it was The BEST that it could have been This time the Traeger was smoking cooler, it was around 160, most of the time, and 175 or occasionally and I saw 186 once, last batch I was seeing 200* too much. What really surprised me with the temps, is that Today is considerably Warmer than when I smoked the first batch Hopefully, I’m getting it dialed in, I have a couple Really Good looking filets picked out, to smoke for my Dad and stepFather for Father’s Days I still have at least a dozen more filets in the freezer, so we will be having plenty of Salmon yet to come Doug
Just took these off the bronco....hot links,black bear dogs,breakfast links....gonna use some in beans tomorrow and maybe a few tacos
Just off the Traeger, Homemade Smoked Salmon for my Dad and stepFather for Father’s Day The filets looked Bigger this batch, well they did when I thawed them, but by the time I trimmed them, brined them and set them out to form a pellicle, they weren’t looking so BIG, especially after putting them on the grill. I wish that I had thawed a third filet, but by the time I realized that, it was too late. So I will only get to sample the latest tweaks to the recipe on a few small pieces. Still cooling from coming off the grill, but looking like my Best batch yet Doug
