    Last week when it was so cold and snow covered I went out and got a young hog. As luck would have it he was a bard hog. I took the hams and added some pork fat to it and mad some breakfast sausage. Made about 20 pounds. I would have used the shoulders but the 35 Whelen kinda ruined them. 20240125_174901.jpg

    No getting around it the 35 packs a punch. Good looking sausage. Sage or Jimmy Dean clone? Never heard the term "bard hog". Clue me in please?

    Then season is Adkins farm style. A bard hog is when it's castrated. Someone caught it then cut it and turned it loose. Makes a boar just as good as a sow. No gamey taste.
