    Round two tonight. Took the boy to the market. Picked out a rib eye, strip steak and boneless short ribs again.

    Rib eye won, short ribs and strip steak last. I used dense lump charcoal that I don't like at all. Frickin huge chunks and took a long time to heat up.

    Ended up using smaller pieces and nice oak chunks again. Nice char too.

    That looks great!! As far as the charcoal for the last 2 years all the lump I been getting is huge!! Like so big it's a real problem..but then again if you look back there was peeps on here complaining about it being to small. I have trouble now making a fire in the Weber due to the giant chunks interfering with the grates....and like you said the fire don't spread as fast......would be much better with a happy medium

    I'm using up a bag of condensed lump and it is dense. It smolders for a long time too. The dry oak chunks have been great and consistent.
