Yep, the wifey put some stuff on. I believe it was soy sauce and minced garlic. Not my first choice but it is what we had already.

Question to the pit masters here - Might be having a little get together this weekend which gives me a good excuse to smoke something. I was thinking a chuck roast since I've never done one and have heard good things. Should I expect it to take as long as a brisket or longer? Thinking 5lb range. From what I gather it seems a little more forgiving than a brisket although I've never really had issues with making a decent brisket in the past. I have a feeling it's something that's going to take longer than I really want it to so if that's the case I may just end up sticking with ribs.

Mostly like doing a brisket. They are juicer than a brisket, though. I like them a lot. You can undercook a chuckie a bit and it’ll still be good. Hadn’t made one in over a year. I gotta get back to smokin meats again.

Thanks Al. I've heard in the past that people ended up liking them more than brisket. I could see that happening for me since they are considerably cheaper than brisket I can get around here.

I've done both and I personally like the Chuck roast better than brisket. I cook them both to 205 degrees.

Nothing special, just burgers for my lunch today and the rest of the week. This was more of a test, it's around 16* and overcast but my kamado does not care at all. Did I mention how much I like this type of cooker?
Pretty much Skeeters fault that I got this.

Can't see that there's a difference between any of them other than hardware maybe.
I don't know, remember I found this at a "surplus" place, new for less than half the price of the Joe's or egg's. Made in USA including the clay pot.
I'll defer to you, edumacate me as all I know about the others is just looking at them in a showroom.
Hey what's that big stainless rig you showed above with the big charcoal drawer?

But to answer your question about the difference in kamados,i just prefer the joe cause of the possibilities in accessories and it just flat out a better cooker:eek:

I love my Kamado Joe also but I really want to add a Traeger to my grill fleet at some point.
