Thanks Ivan and yes ALL of YOU's are directly responsible for turning me into a PIG I never had any hoarding tendencies prior to becoming a member here I use to never hoard anything including firewood then I came here I mean this was my last year stash of firewood before switching to pellets a modest stack Disability can be a motivator just have to be extremely careful ...
Thanks for the pellets Joe! Bucks Pellets These were always a favorite of Pete imacman and I can't wait to burn them!
I've burned em before and I didn't think they were that bad.I actually thought they burned well.Your mileage may vary.
I had a couple samples maybe 3-4 years ago and the only thing I remember the pellets were all over the 1" range and I believe and needed to crank the feed to get heat out of them. I didn't peek into this bag yet but I think Joe had this lying around his scratch and dent pile for a while.
I let both of the stoves go out , it's 53 out and 85 inside , prolly give them a quick clean later today .
So the P61a says they are pretty good - little ash but really not enough extra heat to reduce consumption (used 1 bag in 24 hours - which is norm for this weather). The P61a has not been cleaned for about 10 days, but it isn't filthy by any measure. P43 says meh. Although the ash is reduced some compared to Chows, it isn't by much (not like the P61a). This stove was cleaned really good last Friday, and it has a new combustion blower installed (done of Friday - hence the cleaning), so not sure why they aren't burning as low ash as the P61a. Doesn't seem to be any warmer air coming out as when I was burning chows and TSC MWP's either. So, my verdict is they aren't worth their normal price of $7+/bag. Good thing I got them at 10% off then another $10 back as rewards cash. Note that neither of my stoves have ever been overly impressed by most pure softies - so I'm sorry if my results don't equal your results, or what you expected to hear. My stoves seem to love pure hardwoods best.
I put LG Satisfaction into the Fahrenheit and no heat, cranked up the air to achieve a little more btu's Second stove was on for the night so I don't get in the morning
Interesting, the bags around here don’t look like that anymore. They are mostly clear now. I wonder if the bag type is an indication of vintage or depends on mill, etc. Are the pellets you got from Joe a dull grayish brown color? Might snag a few bags from the local store to give them a shot.
