I'd like to report exciting news, like I'm burning some new super-duper-extraordinary-secret pellet , but ... we're still happily burning the Satisfaction (aka: LG Granules) pellets here.

Using last season's batch (4/18), still a touch below LaCrete's for heat, and slightly heavier ash. With the Francesca stove dialed-in, and the "modified" craftsman offset wrench I use to stir up the burn pot every 6-8 hours, stove can run for a few days straight, before the small ash pan gets full.
It's dammed boring, I tell 'ya. :( ... I'm long overdue for a pellet hunting adventure this season. :vulture:

We're down to a ton, and we'll start picking up a fresh new batch of Satisfaction over the next few weeks, and I'm sure they'll be just as consistent, and boring, as the batch we got now. :picard: :D

    * But I'll report back if anything exciting happens - like if I find they're made out of Kryptonite, or anything like that.

That's true TT, very true. :handshake:
Not putzin' and futzin' w/ the stove is the payoff, .. it's still dammed boring though.

Not directly related to pellets, but what.the.heck - picked up a set of Duck-brand "Double Draft Seal" under door draft stoppers for 12 bucks & change @ WallyWorld tonight: comes with a cloth sleeve, some styrofoam tubes you cut to size to fit inside the cloth sleeve / the door / frame, w/ elastic that holds the whole shebang to the bottom of the door.

Was a little skeptical about a "fix in a box" for 12 bucks, but gotta say .. after putting it on, the darn thing works!

If anyone reading has an air gap at the bottom of a door leading to an under-heated section of the house, might be worth checking 'em out.

Just poured the first bag of Chows into the P43. Very light blond and sweet smelling. Won't hit the firepot until tonight or sometime tomorrow (depending on solar gain).

Okay, I shouldn't have said "very" - must have been the lighting in the living room that led me to think they were lighter than they really are. Just compared them to the TSC bagged MWP's - can't tell the difference besides from smell. Chows are on the left and MWP's on the right.

What is the bar code# (not SKU)? Unlikely to be MWP's which have a bar code of 8 52453 00306 6

Turns out those Curran softwoods are good. Having burned North Americans before (which I believe come from the same mill?) I wasn't sure what to expect from them. Pleasantly surprised and would buy again if I saw them anywhere. These were at TSC, by the way; seems odd these days. Honestly can't remember the last time I saw pellets at TSC that were in the manufacturer's own bag as opposed to the standard blue and white TSC branded bag...

Code 8-5245300306-6 ( I used the - as they are before and after the code) sku was below the bar code, so I assume they are MWP

MWP doesn't make a pure hardwood. A blend and softwood, unless it's a new pellet.

SO I assume they are a blend even though they say hardwood. Burning pretty good.
